Trump trashes the Khans

by resorting to, what else--Islamophobia.

In an interview with New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd Friday night, Trump didn't zero in on Khan's accusations but rather on his wife, Ghazala Khan, who stood beside her husband silently. His response to Dowd was brief.

"I'd like to hear his wife say something," Trump said.

Trump expanded on that sentiment in an interview with ABC News Saturday.

"If you look at his wife, she was standing there," Trump said. "Maybe she wasn't allowed to have anything to say, you tell me."
. . .

In that Saturday ABC News interview, Trump was also asked to respond to Khizr Khan's assertion that Trump has sacrificed nothing. The GOP nominee first asked if Clinton's speech writers scripted Khan's remarks (Khan has claimed to have rejected such help), then said, "I think I've made a lot of sacrifices. I work very, very hard. I've created thousands and thousands of jobs.

Trump also said, "If you look at his wife, she was standing there. She had nothing to say. She probably, maybe she wasn't allowed to have anything to say. You tell me."

This appears to be Trump tipping his hat to some on far-right wing and nationalist Twitter, who have suggested that Ghazala Khan was silent during her husband’s speech because they are Muslim that Khizr Khan prohibits his wife from speaking.

There comes a time in the history of a nation where an ethical, moral stand has to be taken regardless of the political cost.

I doubt very much that the Donald would enjoy hearing what Mrs. Khan would have to say.

and morality? Neither has any, in my view. Like Trump, their perfect candidate, they will sacrifice everything for money.

and their son for a media photo shoot of his apartment. He was wearing a suit, of course. It wasn't salacious, but creepy none-the-less.

On their MSNBC interview, Mrs. Khan not only spoke, her husband credited her with advising him on the speech, esp. the part where he was speaking to Trump directly.

she didn't want to talk on Lawrence O'Donnell last night. Basically, she worried she would become too emotional talking about her son.

In actuality she advised her husband on what to say and not say.
