"(W)orst debate performance by a presidential candidate (of) the modern era"

I'm going to give myself a pass on the rule against posting from RW sources.

At least they seem to have a clue re: who won the debate.

If you either support the defeat of Hillary Clinton or the election of Donald Trump as president, or both, I don’t know how it would be possible not to be disgusted by Trump’s performance last night. Disappointment doesn’t capture it.

Trump turned in the worst debate performance by a presidential candidate since the modern era of these televised events in 1960, and Trump’s was the worst by a long shot. What to compare it to? In my mind it harked back to President Ford’s “liberation” of Poland in his 1976 debate against Jimmy Carter, but Trump’s disaster was far worse. Ford was an incumbent president and a transparently decent man. He had nothing to prove in that regard or in his ability to discharge the duties of the office.

Not so the case with Trump. He had something to prove and he botched it. Repeatedly

I know why Donald did so badly in the one on one debate with Hillary; it's because he's only good at debating in a crowd...like during the ones with all his fellow Republican candidates. In those mass-debates he was clearly the master...debater. As disgusting as it sounds to have
grown men and women mass debating in public...on stage no less...well, the Republicans thought is was a good idea.

Ultimately, Donald was so good at mass-debating..."He was always mass debating at school as a kid"...his mother would often remark...that he stroked and poked his way through all twentey eight Republican debates until he was the only candidate remaining; coming all over...sorry...overcoming all his opponents and exciting his supporters into orgasmic frenzy.
