Related: About this forumURGENT ACTION: RWers have flooded Open Debates Voting, which DETERMINES QUESTIONS of Oct 9 Debate
Ugh, online voting will be used to determine the questions asked at the Oct 9 debate. Rwer's have made a concerted effort to skew the questions.

I got this in my email from "Progressive Change Campaign Committee" ( boldprogressives.org )
This is the linkthey sent me:

text of email:
SIREN! The conservative Drudge Report flooded the Open Debates voting process with thousands of right-wing voters. This could skew questions asked in the Oct. 9 presidential debate.
ABC and CNN debate moderators have agreed to receive and consider the top 30 questions on this important voting site.
Will we let questions favoring gun leniency and voter suppression win? Or will we vote up progressive priorities like expanding Social Security benefits and overturning Citizens United? Vote here for...
Expanding Social Security
Campaign Finance Reform
Public Option for Health Insurance
Wall Street Reform
Criminal Justice Reform
The Atlantic reports, "The second presidential debate will try something new. Ordinary Americans will be able to submit -- and vote on -- questions to be considered when the candidates meet again."
Voting takes just a few seconds.
Over 600,000 votes have already been cast on 6,000 questions. Add your votes -- or your own questions.
Thanks for being a bold progressive.

(2,495 posts)You just have to give some basic info when you sign up and then start voting. You don't even need to confirm your email or anything like that.

(2,284 posts)Don't panic, or run the sirens. The questions have to be applicable to both candidates, and on Wednesday night there were obvious ringers, like Benghazi questions and Vince Foster, and "Will you release your income tax returns?"
I did get a followup email today suggesting I share some of the questions on social media, though. I had wondered what they would do with my email address.

The box is barely noticeable, easy to overlook.
Since most of us aren't going to read through all 6,605 questions,
I chose to sort by "Most Votes". This causes the questions with the most votes to appear at the top of the list of over six thousand questions. Your votes are most likely to matter when you vote for a question that already has a lot of votes (similar to not wasting your vote on a third-party candidate). Many of the questions appear several times on the list in various rewordings, so you are most effective if you choose the same wording others are going for.
Also of course I'm going to cut-and-paste the original post and email to others

Voted on several pages of questions.
I would like to see more questions on the TPP.
