There's no doubt that Pence is a great performer. But for 90 minutes, he lied about everything his running mate said.
Pence's entire #VPDebate strategy consists of denying everything Trump has ever said or done
Kaine is scoring now on nuclear proliferation, Russia and taxes. Pence keeps denying Trump said things that he did indeed say.
Then Pence falsely denies that Trump said more countries should get nukes. From start to finish, this is the Denying Plain Facts campaign.
Pence's strategy seems to be either ignoring or denying things that Trump has said, regardless of all evidence to the contrary.
Is Mike Pence actually denying the fact that Donald Trump insults people?
I get that a brazen disregard for facts is not new in this campaign, but Mike Pence just denied that this really proveable thing happened
Trump honestly should have just done what Pence is doing: denied ever saying the things he said.
Pence is denying he said Putin is a stronger leader than Obama. But...he said it. Trump did too. Trump said it first.
Pence denies that Trump didn't know Russia invaded Ukraine. Here's the clip: http://mojo.ly/2ddcC2a
Pence denied that Trump called NATO obsolete. FACTCHECK: "I think NATO is obsolete," Trump told ABC News in March. #VPDebate
.@Mike_Pence denies he said Putin was inarguably stronger leader than Obama. He did.
It is wild to watch Pence just simply deny that Trump said the things he said.
Ah, Pence must've remembered it's his job to deny that Trump said things he said in front of countless cameras. #VPDebate
Pence's strategy tonight: denying things Trump has most certainly said, i.e. praising Putin, Muslim ban
Pence is basically just denying that Trump has said or supported everything Trump has said and supported. #VPDebate - MediaMatters
Poor Mr. Pence wasn't able to defend or play off his rehearsed script. The audience didn't see it and the instant polls didn't see it, BUT JOURNALISTS DID. Mike is blank faced liar.

Conservative Indiana press would not do what the national press is doing now.
Now that he is revealed as a bullshitter, I question whether he will be fruitful with any further political aims.

We could see how quickly they started to go after him post-debate.
But, when the populus reacted swiftly against Trump's behaviors, they had to reel it back a bit.
There is strong indication that a Trump presidency would cause financial losses across many spectrums, including media.
You'll see, as the election gets closer, there will be a reeling in and out, like a fish on a line, to balance the media profits with the denial of a Trump presidency. So many are freaking out about Trump winning, when just steady pressure will ensure an HRC victory.

(47,209 posts)Own influence immediately after the DNC and totally let Trump dominate and lie without saying a word. Slowly a few people started to acknowledge they let untruths go unchallenged. Slowly they mentioned more "mistakes" and "inaccuracies". I think Lawrence OD and Joy Reid were the first to call them lies. And then when he pulled that shit doing PR for the hotel and saying one sentence about the birther carp they were mad. Because he used them all and refused to give them any ink on it.
Within a day or two the NYT apologized for not using the word "lie" earlier and the dam broke. but before that they had spent a good three weeks helping him and he was climbing in the polls.

Basically deposed Pence on national TV
Set up Hillary for Sunday night
- VP won't defend his own running mate
- tell Trump that he needs to apologize (this will set him OFF)
