EXTINCTION LEVEL EVENT FOR GOP!!!

Love this! Some conservative evangelical guy named Steve on Tamron Hall who says he predicted this in a USA Today article back in May. He says it's all over except for the body count.

Such sweet revenge for President Obama who has, more than anyone, had to put up with Trump's racism while trying to keep this country together and try to keep the image of America from going to the basement.

Sorry...THERE IS NOT ENOUGH POPCORN IN THE WORLD!!!

If you mean that we may eventually move the enter of American politics to the left, I agree. And if the Dems form something like a permanent majority, we COULD see the emergence of viable far-left party. But that would not make the current Democrats "conservatives."

Neither can stand on their own as a viable political majority. The crazy will always be crazy, but the 1% will have to find a stable home. If the democrats can keep them in check and not be corrupted by their money, maybe some real progress can be achieved.

I remember this board back in 2008 when we were sure the Republican Party was done - stick a fork in them done. They had almost destroyed the economy and voters were electing Obama and Democrats controlled the House and had 60 Senate seats. It looked like a real progressive, New Deal type agenda could be enacted. A mere six years later, repugs were back in control of Congress.

The bigger picture here is not whether or not Trump loses (he is finished), it is whether or not Democrats show up in numbers great enough to take back the Congress too.

Without a friendly Senate and House, Hillary Clinton will get absolutely NOTHING done. The Congress will employ the same tactics they have used on Obama, but they will be even more vitriolic in their intransigence.

4 years from now, the country is going to be coming off of 12 straight years of a Democrat in the White House, something that has happened exactly ONCE in the last 80 years (when FDR and Truman ran off 20 straight years over 6 terms). The longest GOP streak was Reagan-Bush I (from 1980 - 1992).

This country gets wanderlust with its leaders after a certain amount of time and without a friendly congress to help her, Hillary may find re-election a much tougher proposition that this circus freak show campaign has been. We need to realize that if GOTV falls short this year, it won't prevent Hillary from winning....it will just prevent her from governing.

I don't think that the President is built that way. Though I am sure he feels good about his legacy. I think that he is the type of person who actually feels saddened by the state of events within the Republican Party. To the President, it has never been just about winning and losing. It is about doing what is best for the American people. While I disagree with him on some of the policies he has supported or not supported, I don't think he was in it for himself like Trump is.

no justice has been served until Drumpf is dead in the water on election day. If I had a brick for every single time I heard that "the GOP is dying and extinct" I would have the home the equivalent of Trump Tower - minus the tacky adornments.

The GOP is not going anywhere and we have not won anything. The polls are favorable but we still need to execute the GOTV to guarantee this dreadful human being is nowhere near the WH.

Yes, Republicans are here to stay, but perhaps, they will be a less effective party divided. The problem for the USA is that the republican voter is so delusionally committed and faithful to conservative principals that logic cannot penetrate the parts of the brain for reasoning. It may take many years for the republican party to self correct.

58. Speaking of predictions, look what I wrote in 2011:
Tue Oct 11, 2016, 06:57 PM
Oct 2016

"I just hope conservative America can {shrug off the distortions of propaganda}, and return to its true base values, which are a legitimate part of America and deserve representation. I just fear that the naturally greater tendency of conservatives — especially religious ones — to more frequently be followers instead of independent thinkers may undermine their ability to break free, and many of them may be doomed to follow a corrupt and failed oligarchic movement to its self-destruction. Some might come out of it enlightened and converted to the other side, but if the mainstream of the Republican party stays stuck in the old pattern, a lot of people will just be hurt, confused, directionless, and without a home in the political system, because neither party can speak for them. That’s a dangerous and unstable ingredient in politics, ripe for misuse."

Yeah, I sorta kinda anticipated the possibility of a demagogue like Trump taking over American conservatism, five years ago. https://supersonicman.wordpress.com/2011/09/02/134/

As long as the Goebbels like Fox News and Rush can spew their right wing agenda, or enough people rediscover critical thinking, they will stick.

The stuff some people believe, the amazing things they don't know, is staggering. Anyone who watched some of Leno's "Jay Walking" bits knows this.

The powerful not dumb conservatives depend on getting work a day average people on their side. Lewis Powell said they needed "GOP-TV" and thanks to Reagan and cable they got it. They got people to vote directly against their own personal interest, to carry water for millionaires and billionaires.

Thos witless folks join with the nasty core, white power skin head types and it has often been enough.

We have to convince the non evil witless to actually research things, to come to their senses.
