2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWatching the debate from airport
I was in Atlanta Airport and was catching a flight with a few hours layover so I got to watch the debate surrounded by at least 40-50 random people.
And man it was hilarious watching people's reaction. Most were laughing whenever Trump made his childish comments or waving their hands in a dismissive manner towards the tv......and it was complete silence when Sec. Clinton was talking- everyone was paying close attention to her words (and there was always the occasional 'You go girl' remark from someone in the audience)
I think as this election has gone finally this country has realized how one one side we have a serious, educated, smart, hardworking, ambitious lady and on the other we have a racist, can't string 4 words together, xenophobic, sexist racist orange orangutan buffoon.....and even people who don't like Hillary are switching over to make the "safe" choice.
I am so proud of the way Sec. Clinton handled herself on the stage. It really must have tested her patient to share the spotlight with such an idiot.
Last night she definately delivered the knockout punch. Even Trump's biggest cheerleaders aka morning "puppet" joe cannot deny.

(1,997 posts)the buffoon did tone down his orange make-up for the occasion. He looked almost flesh tone. Might have been his highlight of the night.

(81,514 posts)Tremendous thanks for the report! I especially appreciate your notice of the react around the room. Complete silence when Hillary spoke - everybody paying attention to what she said while they were laughing at Trump or actually physically waving him off. That strongly suggests people ARE paying attention now, and these may have been making note about punching the card for her in November. I'd want to stop and listen carefully, too, if I was seriously starting to consider choosing a candidate. Sounds like most of 'em in the room with you had already started leaning toward her.
Btw - I noted last night during MSNBC's debate aftermath, that their focus group of undecideds wound up with 11 turned to Hillary, only five went to Trump.
