For years, I've participated in a small political forum that includes a broad spectrum of American views, from those who regard BLM as a terrorist group to those who see it has a heroic movement, from those who believe that Obama is a Muslim to those who believe (quite rightly) that Trump is a fascist, from those who are true blue collar to those who are Harvard educated. The group is mostly white men from Massachusetts (with a smattering from elsewhere), and I'd guess mostly people between the ages of 35 and 75. Among this group of about 30 people, Hillary has lost one vote (a Sanders supporter), but Trump has lost at least 6 votes. A Republican from Texas voted for Hillary, a Cruz supporter is not voting, at least 4 other Republicans are voting for Gary Johnson, and a Brexit supporter from England is also against Trump (though he can't vote).
In Michigan, I have some staunchly Republican cousins who easily supported Romney and Bush both times. They and their families will not vote for Trump.
I also know an older man with dyslexia who has never voted, but who will go with his son to the voting both so he can vote for Hillary and against Trump.
In my view, my little group of acquaintances validates the polls that show this will be a very, very good election for the Democrats.

(10,437 posts)the last month among my democratic friends and a lot of disappointment with trump with my conservative friends. Having said this, the GOTV effort must be made top notch so democrats can win the 30 seats needed in the house...that is a MUST. The senate is a no-brainer win for democrats...but we need the House in a big way or will have 4 years of conservatives obstructions and investigations...
The polls are usually right and they bode well for Hillary and democrats but we all mus make the effort in the end.....and hopefully in the House races where its most important
