I just do not care. The media is treating her like she is running against a good, upstanding person, and treating him with kid gloves. Comey needs a new job come January, tired of his machinations.

Comey isn't J Edgar Hoover. Fire him for cause - politicizing a politically neutral law enforcement position.

If anything, he should be canned for ineptitude.

(16,104 posts)Asked to respond, a top Clinton campaign spokesperson tells NBC News, "No idea."
The news come less than two weeks before the general election with Clinton leading in the polls.
This is unprecedented. This is a rogue appointee.
Comey should have been warned. Now its time to be terminated.

(24,392 posts)It would be different if the RW assholes could come up with something, anything besides emails as a bludgeon against Hillary, but they're lazy and can't be bothered.
For most of the public - ie: the 98% who don't watch cable news - the phrase "email scandal" has lost any meaning and import. People aren't watching and they're certainly not listening. Chicken Little has spoken too many times to believe the sky is falling. They've moved on from the bs. Life is too short.

This could be extremely damaging to her presidency.
On the other hand, if she has an overwhelming majority, like 90% of the vote, I don't think he'll have much of a market for his TV network.

Kurt Eichenwald, a breaker of news on Trump, clarifies Comey letter
1. FBI not reopening the investigation.
2. Comey legally had 2 inform Congress, because he testified they had finished reviewing evidence,
When u discover information that requires you to amend ur testimony, you have to do so immediately, particularly as a government official...
https://twitter.com/kurteichenwald/status/792063957838069760
Kurt has zero reason to prop up Trump. Hell, his family was threatened by deplorables as he reported in Newsweek. But Comey did what he had to do. Asshole Republicans who received letter turned it into this and media is responding to it.
But this will calm down. Patience.

(138 posts)That's why I refuse to simply view it as something we can easily dismiss and not worry about. We can rant and rave all we want to about Comey, the media, and the buffoonery of Trump that's soon to follow. It doesn't change the fact that this beast has reared its ugly head once more. Do I think she's done anything criminal? Of course not. However, there are large swaths of the electorate who change their minds as frequently as you and I change underwear. This hurts, and the sad truth of it all is that we're really powerless to do anything about it. We can vote (if we haven't done so already), and that certainly helps, but DU and the seemingly shrinking group of intellectual minds in this country aren't enough. Everything is going to rest on how the Clinton campaign responds to this. It can't be ignored, unfortunately. There's going to need to be some damage control.

Trump is horrible, and a disaster.
That doesn't excuse other bad behavior. It's actually pretty illuminating that it seems Hillary is unfortunately surrounded by too many morally flexible leeches, than the case of her being the driving force behind some rather questionable conduct.
Out of everything, it's nice to see Chelsea very much conducts herself with integrity and has a true sense of awareness in letting her moral compass drive her to raise attention and stopping others from usurping the Foundation for their own gain.
bravenak
(34,648 posts)I judge sexual assault, fraud, tax avoidance and blatant discrimination of black tenants are far far worse than mishandling emails. They judge the multitude of things he does as triffles. I have no fucking clue what Chelsea OR the Foundation have to do with this.
