2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThe conservative Wall Street Journal reported on the case alleging Trump raped a child
back on October 9th. I missed that at the time. It's also been mentioned in passing on MSNBC; and today Kelly Anne Conway was asked about it in an interview on CNBC.
So the case is beginning to leak into the MSM. Drip, drip, drip.
The Princeton NJ attorney who has been representing the alleged victim is a patent attorney, a Republican with a history of giving to Mitt Romney, Chris Christie, and others, with no apparent reason for wanting to take on a fake case. And hes pulled in another lawyer: Cheney Mason, a much higher-profile Florida attorney (who gave to Hillary in 2006 and has only given to one other candidate, another Democrat, since then.)
But last I heard the lawsuit, which has a mid-December status hearing date, hadnt yet been served on Trump. That is a critical action that must take place or the case will be dismissed.
Thats probably why the rest of the MSM isnt all over this case.

In June, a California woman sued Mr. Trump and financier Jeffrey Epstein in federal district court in Manhattan, alleging she was raped and sexually assaulted by the men over the course of four New York parties hosted by Mr. Epstein in the summer of 1994.
The lawsuit, filed under the pseudonym Jane Doe, said the woman was 13 years old at the time. It was accompanied by the declaration of another woman who said she was paid to entertain guests of Mr. Epstein and witnessed Jane Doe performing various sex acts with Mr. Trump, including him raping her.

Thomas F. Meagher, the New Jersey lawyer representing Jane Doe, drew a direct line between Mr. Trumps recently revealed comments and his clients lawsuit.
It has been said that the video reveals Mr. Trump to be a sexual predator, Mr. Meagher said. Our clients complaint alleges sexual predatory acts by him and Mr. Epstein.

Sorkin noted Trump would be facing his own legal problems as president because a woman who accused him of raping her when she was 13 years old was recently granted a December hearing.
My understanding is that no matter who wins, were going to be dealing with the email issue after this if shes the president, he explained. If Donald Trump is the president, hes got the child rape case thats going to happen that was just given a date.
Oh, come on, Conway gasped. That you would analogize the two. Give me a break.
Im just suggesting that no matter who is in the White House, Sorkin continued before being interrupted.
Next you are going to ask me where his taxes are, Conway quipped, rolling her eyes.

Trump will never survive this story if it comes out.
If KAC thinks equating sexually assaulting a child is less problematic than some irrelevent emails, she's an idiot.

(15,290 posts)The story is out there and has been for awhile, but it doesn't have real legs yet. Someone like Gloria Allred or her daughter Lisa Bloom should talking about it. Then it would get some serious attention on cable.
If I were an operative or dirty trickster, I'd be making robocalls to Republicans or sending mailers laying out the accusations.
