Trump has so dirtied the Election that Scholastic's 35 kid reporters have been bullied & heard filth

A few weeks ago, Erik Weibel was at a Bernie Sanders rally for Hillary Clinton in Pennsylvania when he was accosted by a group of young supporters of Donald J. Trump. The boys surrounded him, jeering and chanting, “Trump! Trump! Trump!” One made a crude comment about Mrs. Clinton.

“They were being really obnoxious, getting right up in my face and shouting things, and I didn’t know how to react,” he said. “My mom stepped in and helped.”

Erik is 14, a ninth grader from Benton, Pa. He has been closely tracking the presidential race as a reporter for the children’s book publisher Scholastic, which has dispatched 35 children, ages 10 to 14, to the campaign trail.

Covering the primary campaigns and general election in Pennsylvania, Erik has witnessed tense encounters between Trump supporters and protesters, heard raw and offensive language from angry crowds and occasionally felt the animosity directed toward the news media. He has had to tiptoe around contentious subjects in his articles, omitting the graphic details of the allegations of unwanted advances on women against Mr. Trump and the obscene language in the leaked tape from “Access Hollywood,” in which the Republican presidential candidate bragged about his treatment of women.

they go out and harass people who won't pledge their fealty by bending their heads and lowering their eyes in their divine presence.

when I was in school, and HW Bush was running, the punks who were for him would harass other students about their backing of The Duke! They apparently have it in their disposition at birth to be a-holes - and I don't mean it's coming from their parents, necessarily, it's specific to each person. The biggest jerk in the school was the son of the Current Affairs teacher - who was a very soft and kindly LIBERAL. He would argue with his dad in our class, because it was during the presidential campaign. I often would stare out the window instead of listening to his pompous son explain why helping people in need was wrong and a waste of tax dollars, etc... I nearly hated him! LOL

I hadn't thought about this in years.

While standing outside a school entrance, awaiting the janitor to unlock it, there was a 6th grader who asked me and other students who we were "voting for" that day, Carter or Ford... as if any of us could vote! The kids who answered "Carter" were punched in the upper arm, and it wasn't long before most kids answered "Ford."

I still answered "Carter," knowing he's who my parents supported, and got punched. I was more hard-headed than smart, I guess.

Damned 6th grade fascist.

I remember seeing everyone's breath that morning, so it was a lot cooler that day than today!

I guess that's the only intelligence level they can manage. What are they going to do next, attack grade school children?

And of course my concern is the they will attack babies in strollers.

Actually, if those kids have good teachers in high school they can start early. What an awful experience. Thanks for the post and link.
