I doubt he actually saw it, but it looks like the President took my advice

On Friday, I wrote that the president should not fire Comey or otherwise get involved with the FBI crap because doing so could backfire by opening him up to charges of rigging the investigation and feed the pundits the opportunity to yack for days about whether it was equivalent to the Saturday Night Massacre.

Instead, I wrote that

The best thing the president can do for Hillary now is open up about how she came to earn his trust and offer a strong character endorsement, stronger than he has to date. He has been a great surrogate but he has mostly focused on her qualifications. I think he could give her a boost by vouching for her character and trustworthiness. And that would help her a lot more than getting anywhere near the FBI shenanigans.

I think in another post I actually suggested that he say that he wouldn't endorse her if he didn't trust her.

Of course, I got attacked for that as being insufficiently pro-Obama (really? me?), but apparently it was a good idea, because today he did pretty much exactly what I suggested:
“I just want everybody who’s watching to know that Hillary Clinton not only is going to make a great president and not only is she willing to work on the issues that your viewers care about most, but I trust her, I know her and, you know, I wouldn’t be supporting her if I didn’t have absolute confidence in her integrity and her interest in making sure that young people have a better future,” he said.

Of course, I doubt he or his staff read my post on DU, but I am still happy to see him "take my advice" even if he didn't know about it.

In every campaign appearance. I've listened to most of them.

You are a person of conscience who is building your political strategy on an ethical framework that is honest and well-meaning.

And so is our President!

My first post here:
I see your point and agree. I have to admit that I personally wanted him to come out and lay the snack down on comey, rogue agents, and the vile obstructionist GOP. I'm sick of HRC being smeared and bullied for 30 years, but I get why POTUS did it his way.

My biggest fear is that these rogue FBI agents are setting Hillary up. I'm not given to wacky conspiracy theories, but I've never seen this kind of behavior and hatred from GOP FBI before. My worst fear is that they will plant something on that Weiner laptop.
