Myth Busting: Examining the 'Evidence' That Obama Won Due to 'Widespread Voter Fraud'
Why isn't the FBI or the Justice Department investigating the "widespread voter fraud" that a number of Rightwingers are claiming enabled Barack Obama to win the 2012 election?
The simplest answer is that there is nothing to investigate --- at least no evidence to suggests as much at this time. Lacking such evidence, such fishing expeditions are a waste of taxpayer money, particularly when the evidence of "fraud" forwarded to date by those Republicans are easily dispatched with little more than a Google search and a few clicks of the mouse.
All existing evidence suggests that President Obama soundly defeated Mitt Romney by an electoral vote margin of 332-206, and a popular vote margin of 50.9-47.4 percent. Yet, the myth that "widespread voter fraud" swung the election for Obama continues to persist on Rightwing web sites and blogs. These myths are usually divorced from the facts altogether or grounded in baseless speculation.
Let's take a look at four of the most popular myths currently being trumpeted by the Rightwingers...

(2,938 posts)BTW, does WND get invited to testify before federal agencies and state legislatures? Just curious.
Please proceed to make up another answer to try make yourself look like less of an asshole (and good luck with that!)
OR, you could cite one single thing to back up your assertions here. I been at it for nearly a decade, surely it couldn't be that hard to show an example of "made up bullshit" that I've posted about voting machines!

It's a waste of time. Your blog is about made up bullshit to grift for money, nothing else.
Just like WND.

Seriously, dude. There are some 10,000 articles on The BRAD BLOG. *Surely* you could cite one of those "made up" things about voting machines. Don't you even care that you look like an asshole here?
BTW, if my blog is "bullshit to grift for money", I must be doing it wrong.

(11,607 posts)There is just no way even a concerted effort at fraud could give a candidate 5 points more than he otherwise would have gotten. It would take such a massive and complex scheme of adding the right amount of votes at each precinct that there's no way something like that could be pulled off without involving a lot of people, way more than could be trusted to keep quiet.
Oh yeah, and weren't most of the swing states controlled by Republican governors and Secretaries of State?
RepublicansRZombies
(982 posts)But it is laughable these assholes want to accuse us.
We should have no problem returning to paper ballots, hand counted and posted at the precinct level with Republican's full support.
Then they will never win an election again

(2,938 posts)RomneyLies weren't??? It's acceptable to call someone a "grifter" and claim that everything they have ever written is fraudulent, but pointing out the obvious trollishness of a person who does so (without them being able to offer a shred of evidence in support of those claims over a dozen or so replies) is not???
Strange brews here at DU these days.

By David Horowitz
I am incredibly steamed this Thanksgiving Holiday over what the Democrats are doing to my country.
Everybody by now knows or should know how readily Democrats conduct election fraud, and how determined they are to defend it. James OKeefe and others have taken videos of paid Democratic operatives encouraging citizens to vote twice. OKeefe was even able to claim Attorney General Eric Holders own ballot at a district polling place by claiming to be him, and then to vote in his place.
<snip>
But even knowing this, I was not prepared for a conversation I had at Thanksgiving dinner with my brother-in-law, Henry, who has lived most of his life in a home for the mentally disabled and although now in his 40s, has the intelligence level of a 6-year-old.
Obama saved me, he said to me out of the blue.
What do you mean?
I voted for him for president and now hes saving me.
I was taken aback by these words, since Henry had no idea who Obama was, or what a president might be, and would be unable to fill out a registration form let alone get to the polling place by himself.
So I asked him how he knew that and how he had registered and cast his vote. In halting, impeded speech he told me that the people who take care of him at the home filled out the papers to register him to vote, told him how Obama cared for him, even taught him the Obama chants, and then took him to the polling place to vote. They did the same for all of the mentally disabled patients in their care, approximately 60 in all.

Brad, I listened to your entertaining encounter with Horowitz last week, but I only recently stumbled across his article that sparked the who thing. What a tool....

(2,938 posts)For those who may not have heard it, the audio (and full background with link to Horowitz' column making those claims etc) is here: http://www.bradblog.com/?p=9756
It's a fun one! His claims seem to fall apart in record time. (Even faster than "RomneyLies" lies above!)
