Souls to the Polls, Dayton Ohio.

A coworker just phoned about his unsuccessful attempt to vote today. All early voting in Montgomery County takes place in the basement of the county building. He said that the line of cars waiting to get into the parking garage was unbearably long, and that there where blocks of pedestrian voters waiting in line. He'll vote on Tuesday.

I've avoided making prognostications since the end of the primaries, and I'll continue to do so. But the above, along with this CBS tweet should give those panicking about Ohio a bit of pause. This is not anecdotal; it's boots-on-the-ground reporting.

I'm enjoying the hell out of this beautiful, warm November day. Betcha there's a party going on downtown!

It's going to be a real struggle for older people to vote if this continues I should think.

On election day more locations will open. Also, old people (or anybody who wants) can vote by mail.

Nah. I sense that many - perhaps most - elderly voters cast absentee ballots. I know that my mom did, and her opinion is that it's true of the vast majority of residents at her senior living facility.

Then there's voting day. Frankly, the early voting location is not terribly amenable to older or disabled individuals. Tuesday locations are much more accommodating.
