More I read about Martin O'Malley the more I like the guy and want to see him win big

I've seen him speak a few times (outside of that dreadful convention speak) and the guy is a pretty good speaker. In 2008 he did several campaign stops in Philadelphia with Joe Biden to help stump for Obama/Biden and the local candidates.

I would love to see Hillary win as president and I think O'Malley might make a great running mate for her. O'Malley is only going to be 53 in 2016 so as VP it would be a good setup for him to run for President in 2024.

I like what he's doing with the death penalty down there in Maryland!

I live in Maryland and lets just say he's got some skeletons from his days as mayor of Baltimore that I hope remain in the closet. Google "Martin O'Malley and Sade Baderinwa" and you will find out what I'm talking about. I don't know what you'll have heard outside of Maryland, but these whispers of scandal are still talked about to this day. I don't care what a politician does in his personal life so long as he doesn't present as an upstanding family man in his campaigning or is one of those anti-gay politicians who is secretly getting some "down low" action on the side and voting against gay equality measures. Again, like O'Malley and hope this past stuff is buried deep and stays there.

O'Malley has done an OK job as Gov, but I don't think he is that great. I am not from Baltimore, and too much that he does is swayed towards Baltimore. But he was much better than the repuke dingbat that was running.

This was the first time former Maryland Gov Bob Ehrlich and Marty O'Malley competed against each other for the governorship.

Once it was proven that the COS had been personally posting all sorts of lies and rumors in various online discussion boards in hopes of sinking O'Malley's campaign, Ehrlich had no choice but to can the guy.

The "scandal" you refer to is nothing more than the very same handiwork of the Ehrlich Dirty Tricks crew.

On edit: O'Malley's wife, Katie, is a judge. Nobody's dumb enough to fool around on a sitting judge!

It is a rumor that I have just heard for so many years from various people and their story stayed pretty consistent. I had just heard that it was covered up very well. Hopefully it is an urban legend and much ado about nothing. With politics, I am just skeptical. I tend to believe if there's smoke there's at least a small brush fire.

BTW: It was covered up "very well" but you've been hearing about "for so many years from various people"? Just a tad contradictory, don't ya think?

I remember hearing about it during O'Malley's first run against Ehrlich (Ehrlich lost in a rematch too) and if anything it turned off voters. I think the fact that the scandal pretty much died that first election makes me believe that it would be a non-factor should O'MAlley run for Pres or be picked as VP. Because unless there is some sort of solid proof the story would be another Jeremiah Wright/Weather Underground story that will make the extreme right wing think they have a 'Gotcha' moment but ignored by most mainstream voters.

I am so proud as well about his position on the death penalty, and I was very proud during this last election to be able to vote in favor of gay marriage. And this may seem small to you, but Maryland was the first state in the Country to ban arsenic in chicken feed. I was thrilled when I read this. O'Malley has a large list of accomplishments; overall he presents well and I think most Dems could support him in 2016. He is great.
