Sort of reminds me of those Italians during the middle ages.

Now, More is very admired in Catholic circles. He's literally a saint. But some also point out that, as well as being a martyr for his Catholic beliefs, he wasn't above sending Protestants to the stake to be burnt.

Stuck in the Italian Renaissance. Not a bad place to be, if you are him!

(60,536 posts)Justice Scalia wore a weird hat, but Justice Breyer wore a different style weird hat. Thanks for the enlightenment, much appreciated!

(42,714 posts)Skull caps are not typical, but there is a historical basis for wearing them. For example, seven of the justices wore skull caps to JFK's inauguration. Breyer and Scalia apparently enjoy maintaining the tradition. Breyer wore a skull cap not only to Obama's second inauguration, but also to bush's second swearing in.

(60,536 posts)75% of the population lives below the poverty level and subsists on welfare. A "typical" hat is generally known as a baseball cap, carrying the names of a baseball team, or companies, e.g. real estate, cement or a small grocery store that gave the caps to their customers during the December/January holiday season. I guess I should move to the real world of liberal fighters where a typical hat is weird but nonetheless "typical." BTW, how many of those Breyer style typical hats do you own?

(21,977 posts)I'm FAR from a Scalia fan, but criticizing the hat just shows historical ignorance. There's plenty more to criticize Fat Tony about.
