When did George W Bush make his first presidential trip to Israel?

Bush began his tour of the Middle-East starting January 8, 2007. Nearly 6 years after first taking office. Or nearly 2 years into his 2nd term. (about 10 days short of 2 years)

But, I dislike that others pretend the Republicans are true friends to Israel.

Obama (D) -- never travelled to Israel as president (1st term); plans for second term
Bush II (R) -- never travelled to Israel as president (1st term); Jan. 9, 2008, May 14, 2008 (second term)
Clinton (D) -- Oct. 27, 1994, Nov. 5, 1994, Mar. 13, 1996 (1st term); Dec. 12, 1998 (second term)
Bush I (R) -- never travelled to Israel as president (one term)
Reagan (R) -- never travelled to Israel as president (two terms)
Carter (D) -- Mar. 10, 1979 (one term)
Ford (R) -- never travelled to Israel as president (one term)
Nixon (R) -- June 16, 1974 (not in 1st term, before resigination)
Johnson (D) -- never travelled to Israel as president (one (and half) terms)
Kennedy (D) -- never travelled to Israel as president (one term)
Eisenhower (R) -- never travelled to Israel as president (2 terms)
Truman -- (D) -- never travelled to Israel as president (2 terms) (Truman never left the country after 1947, Israel was created in 1948.)

Since Israel's creation, only Nixon, and "W" have travelled to Israel for the Republicans and in their second term.
