2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumSo when is the Anti-drone strike March on Washington?
Seriously, let's (the collective progressive community, not just DU) do it! I'm off work right now due to a mental breakdown, so I probably shouldn't head the whole thing up or anything, but I'm there. If, that is, we make it a Saturday event.
I realize I likely shouldn't have mentioned the mental thing, but I think my intellect and compassion are intact and I can't bear this drone thing any longer; it's terrible policy, and it's terribly wrong.
Doesn't the administration read anything left of the so-called mainstream media? Or, for that matter, doesn't anyone with any influence talk to Obama about this? How can he so clearly love children, yet preside over, even direct this completely awful military campaign?
I guess that's why we oughta have a big march and show him. In a weird twist, Fox might end up covering it big, unlike the massive protests against the Iraq War that were largely ignored by news organizations.
Alright, so somebody (or a bunch of somebodies) get on that right now!

(73 posts)But don't you think we should wait for an event? Not that me and you wouldn't send a strong message with our presence. and you know, this thread didn't get a big response so it probably would be just us....

(16,646 posts)I'd love to have a long conversation about why we are there and what we are asking for.....
But in the end I suspect I'll be there.

(73 posts)March 2 is the last date I would be available. After that, maybe Spring Break, then not until June.
I should come just visit DC again; I used to live there. But it would be more meaningful if I were attending a march or protest.
