Freshman Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) has been reprimanded by Democratic and Republican colleagues alike for a lack of comity during the confirmation hearing of defense secretary nominee Chuck Hagel, but Sen. Marco Rubio (R-TX) had a different message for the Texas Republican on Friday: keep it up.
On his official Twitter account, Rubio said he's pleased that Cruz entered the Senate "to make a difference not just make some friends."

(26,877 posts)Cruz is a few gaffes away from being considered another Akin. Marco's praise will undoubtedly be used against him when that happens.

(5,995 posts)Lots of folks were trying to tout the new Latino Sen from Texas as someone to watch. Marco is probably glad Ted is taking himself out of the running as the new "savior", makes his own blunders less costly.

(54,428 posts)Rubio knows what he likes. It was bound to be something (or someone) that disgusts others.

(5,842 posts)Because that's about the only thing Cruz has done that has drawn the attention of the general public.
Cruz is going to find out how far that genius move set him back when he needs to the support of his fellow Senators to get something passed.
Meanwhile Rubio just proves more and more by the day that he's not going to be the savior the Republican party needs to bring back the "middle".

(2,969 posts)so he knows he will never be President. He represents Red Texas. This makes him the perfect 'enforcer' for the far Right. He can pretty much say and do what ever he wants as he knows he will be re-elected and has advanced as far as he can politically unless he wants to be Gov of Tex someday. I think he is only getting started and will continue to play to his base with out fear of reprecussion. He can be the hatchet man for the 2016 ticket allowing the Nominee and VP Nominee to keep their hands clean. Question is how do the Dems counter or nuetralize him? That's my two cents anyway...
