I DO NOT want this to happen, but what if...

What if an assault weapon-carrying nut got into the NRA convention and started shooting?
How would they rationalize it?
What could they possibly say to having their friends and loved ones were gunned down?
I don't know of a survivor or family member of such an attack has ever continued to support the NRA.
Again, I don't want this to happen, I'm not advocating, I hope and pray that no one ever shoots up any place again, not even the NRA convention. But as with an intervention on an alcoholic, how can we get them to hit an early bottom with some kind of confrontation with the effects of their beliefs?
Is there any other hope?

2. One would hope that it would finally make all the gun apologists

understand that more guns are not the answer, but probably not. They'd proudly point to the first shooter being gunned down and would not really pay attention to how many relatively innocent bystanders also got gunned down.

By the time the smoke cleared, hardly anyone would be left standing.

4. In an NRA Convention they'll shoot back

and then use it as propaganda on how the 'good' NRAers shot the 'bad' one.

They're probably praying that something like that happens.

for the "everyone should have guns everywhere" crowd, you'd think they'd welcome the packing crowd....

Maybe not at the venue itself? Don't know.

...and Suzanna Gratia Hupp (pro-gun advocate from Texas who lost her parents in the Luby's Cafeteria massacre in 1991) would be out crowing saying, "See? I told you that gun-free zones are a crock! If I had had my gun with me that day in the restaurant I could've shot that creep and my parents would have lived."

17. There would be a massive cross-fire, would be my guess.

Whether guns are "allowed" or not. Just a guess on my part. Don't want to find out (certainly not first-hand!).
