It's about POWER - not abortion

The latest right-wing assault against abortion is about POWER over women. It's not about fetus rights or pro-life. If these laws eventually end up before the current Supreme Court, does anyone really believe they would support the rights of women?

The Iowa Supreme Court ruled that a woman can be terminated from employment for being beautiful. Can burkas be too far behind?

40+ years of fighting for the rights of women and I feel like we're back to square one. (sigh)....

I think the Equal Rights Amendment scared them, even though it didn't pass. It was a reminder that women were tired of being second-class citizens, stuck in the kitchens of America, barefoot and pregnant. The only way to put us back in our place was to find a way to completely do away with safe, convenient birth control (i.e. the Pill).

The "pro-life" movement was actually a brilliant long-term strategy for accomplishing this goal. Hateful, but brilliant.

Nobody likes the idea of abortion, even those of us who understand its necessity. So they started with eliminating late-term abortions. Well, since they were given what they wanted with that, it was easy for them to keep pushing back the gestational age of the fetus all the way back to the beginning of pregnancy.

Now it's difficult to get the morning-after pill. In some areas of the country, pharmacists can refuse to fill prescriptions for birth control pills.

If things continue along this path, it will soon be very difficult, if not illegal, for women to take birth control pills of any kind. Considering the extreme difficulty women face in getting elected to state or national office, I don't have a lot of hope for the future.

Unless a drastic change takes place, women will soon be back in the kitchen. How long will it be before we have to start wearing burkas?

These women-hating freaks are only interested in power and control.

I sincerely hope these women are at least secretly voting democrat. It makes me wonder how their own husbands treat them at home, when no one is watching.

They want to control who you have sex with and what the results of that sex will be.

It goes back to the origins of the patriarchy. A child's mother is obvious. Who the father is isn't. The only way to know for sure is too isolate and control women like the breeding animals in your barn.

Without comprehensive medical care for women, up to and including the right to abortion, there is no freedom for them.

consideration for women, there would be government sanctions against countries who violate the civil rights of women. No, there has NEVER been any sanction against a country for violating women's civil rights.

if they were pro-life they'd be fighting for single-payer. How much good does it do to "save" a fetus if its mother can't pay for health care that the child may need?
