33% of the Texas population has no healthcare...

That’s approximately is 4.8 million people who can not see a DR. unless its at an emergency room.
Tonight on Rachael, she discussed Issa’s trip last night to hold hearings on “Obamacare”.. There was one point when Issa amazingly dressed down the head of Medicaid in Texas by showing him a clip of Fox News
and then stating to him, “that he should watch more Fox News”...No need to even begin to comment..

My point is that out of fucking 4.8 million, could not anyone in that state start advocating for the uninsured by perhaps getting them into the street to peacefully to protest the fact that the State is purposely trying to keep them from receiving healthcare for political purposes? ...

I realize that poor people are so distressed that they feel almost impotent to do anything at all which might enable them to get themselves out of this horrid condition..

But out of 4.8 million one just has to think that Texas Democrats could organize a small protest demonstration every day in front of Perry”s office. I’m talking 2 or 3 hundred on a continuous basis.

Christ... are you telling me that Texas Democrats are that weak that they can not get this horrible issue out front for all the nation to see.....Or are you rather telling me that the Uninsured in Texas are so deep in the dark, and that they hate Obama so much that they would rather die in order to destroy his presidency?
In the meantime, a summary of the crap Rachael carried today..

But mostly they still get cared for and the hospital writes it off.

I know this one dude, wingnut. Gun nut. Had a gun in every room in case somebody busted into his house. I knew him from a knife collecting forum we were on.

He got pneumonia but didn't go to the hospital till too late. His wife sold his knife and gun collection to pay off some of the medical bills after he died.

Diabetes and its complications are a scourge in Texas and a big reason so many people are denied coverage. So is the fact that Texas is Numero Uno in low paying McJobs that don't offer affordable employer insurance. Texas has many working poor that can't afford any kind of coverage and wind up eventually in ERs, ICU's and disability because of conditions that become exacerbated over time without primary care services.

Texas Republicans have a chokehold on the state. Right now, over a third of the state is Hispanic, but we're not a voting demographic. As the population grows, that will surely change and I can see Texas becoming a blue state in national elections fairly soon, but unfortunately, state legislatures will probably stay Republican for a few more generations.

People have to pissed at what has transpired the past 2 years. And if Texas takes a stand, it would be the most amazing thing to happen in over 20 years. I feel it in the force! (because I'm an optimist).

The government sucks, so people hate it more, leading to votes for politicians who have a single-minded goal of dismantling the social welfare and safety net programs of the government....making the government suck more. And so on. Rinse, repeat.

Of course, freedom means the liberty to tell women what their reproductive options are, but freedom is in the eye of the beholder.
