http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/01/07/1267762/-Wikileaks-Documents-Reveal-How-Just-Toxic-Rush-Limbaugh-Is?detail=facebookYesterday Kossack Mike Stark posted this diary about Stratfor emails posted by Wikileaks.
Stratfor is a Texas-based global intelligence firm whose list of clients includes Dow Chemical Co., Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, the US Department of Homeland Security, the US Marines and the US Defense Intelligence Agency.
5 million emails from the firm were hacked by Anonymous and handed over to Wikileaks in late 2011. The leak led to a 10 years in prison for Lulzsec hacker Jeremy Hammond, who said of the heavy-handed sentence
"They have made it clear they are trying to send a message to others who come after me. A lot of it is because they got slapped around, they were embarrassed by Anonymous and they feel that they need to save face."
Mike Stark has spent hours poring over the emails and turned up discussion of Rush Limbaugh and his negative effect on the firm's image at the highest levels.
In August, 2008, Stratfor provided Limbaugh with information about Russian military action in South Ossetia. Stratfor emails about their new BFF border on starstruck:

Importance: High
I was on email with Rush for a half hour or more before his show sending
him our analysis on South Ossetia and chatting with him. I gave him
talking points and emailed him our latest piece at about 5 minutes before
he went on air. I was so busy doing this I didn't have time to let y'all
know.....
Great - I've also given him his own account to use and he offered to pay
for it Told him stratfor can afford to give him a free account!!!
Meredith
Limbaugh used the info in a segment and even referred to the company as "my good friends at Stratfor.com."

(33,982 posts)4. I used to trust analysis by Stratfor.
I at least contrasted it to mainstream narratives, looking for discrepancies, other avenues of inquiry to be explored.
I feel like a huge fucking sucker. I stopped reading their public bits a couple years ago, and I found the naval movement update maps useful, but... damnit. Now, looking back, what poisoned ideas have I absorbed in the past? Because they are not the unbiased source they purported to be.

(4,949 posts)5. Stratfor's CEO George Friedman is so afraid the truth will come out!
Fear of the truth! Welp, that says a lot about the CEO of an intelligence firm.
I wonder, really doubt, if Friedman can even make the distinction between truth and fiction. It doesn't seem to be a priority at Stratfor!

Giving security documents to that twisted white supremacist traitor should earn all those damn over paid no-good rat bastids years in prison. Is Friedman in jail yet?
I am officially royally fucking pissed off. Wikileaks is out of the doghouse and invited back into the living room. I must research this for a more vitriolic response!
