Fox News’ “Dependence Day” Mocks the Poor, Elderly

Fox News’ Eric Bolling has recommended a new holiday for the US to adopt. He’s calling it “Dependence Day,” and like much of what comes from Fox News, it’s built upon false statistics and misinformation.

During the commentary portion of “Cashin’ In,” Bolling said “We were once a strong and proud people built on a rock solid work ethic. Independence recently however [sic], we've evolved for the worse. A massive 55 percent of all Americans have relied on the government for an entitlement. 46 million Americans are receiving food stamps. That's up over 14 million since Barack Obama took office. Nine million workers are now on disability, up 20 percent under Obama.”

Bolling then said that nearly half of all US households don’t pay federal income tax, and that “more and more takers are in the cart and fewer and fewer makers are pulling the darned thing.”

i guess the only reason you don't hear the idiot assholes on the right bleating about bush's executive orders is because it isn't current. probably not, though.

But on the other hand, he won't have to learn any new material for 2016. That's efficient at least.

Oh yeah, sitting on his ass in an air-conditioned studio in his cheap wrinkled suit looking down his nose at the struggling and the vulnerable. What a stain.

If he quoted accurate numbers, my guess is of the 14M food stamp recipients, these are a direct result of the economy. It's still in the crapper, with most full time positions being replaced with part time positions, at a far lees rate of pay for said workers. Granted the situation is much better than it was before Obama. So Bush should be taking the fall for this. He put our ass in a much worse condition, where Obama has made mass efforts to fix.

As for the 20% increase in disability, how can this possibly be Obama's fault. I'm sure more people have claims, but a lot of that has to do with personal health and the rules for qualifying for disability. Sure, some are probably bogus, and I believe there is a process in place to catch the thieves. Perhaps we could beef up this area. But why insinuate that it is Obama's fault?

So FAUX news, as honest as they can be in skewing the numbers and making false accusations, is a total POS news network. They lie and skew facts all the time. Thus the reason I never listen to these a$$holes.
