A Republican gift that should keep on giving

The lawsuit/impeachment mania is the perfect vehicle for Democrats to cash in on.
It appeals to their Tea Bagger core, but the typical voter would slap them silly if we made this the mantra for all Democrats to repeat from now through Election Day:
"They hate the President so much, and are so obsessed with punishing him, that they are willing to completely ignore all their legislative responsibilities to hurt him."
In sound-bite speak: "They want to replay 1998, no matter how much it hurts the country."

We must take a page from their playbook and suspend all policy-wonk speech for the duration of the election. All Democratic candidates need to relentlessly hammer away at this.
It would at least let us hold our own this year, and could lead to a greater victory in 2016!

hammer the gop's mis/malfeasance; but contrast it with clear (even if general and non-specific) policy goal tried and to come.

Didn't really work out too well if I recall.
I'm not suggesting that we be defensive, quite the opposite in fact. We need to be on offense full-time, sticking this lawsuit/impeachment nonsense in their piggish snouts and rubbing their face in it for the next three months.
Talking policies is nice. In the abstract, voters insist that's what they want politicians to do. But if people voted based solely on policy positions, we'd have two-thirds majorities in the House and the Senate.
