This weeks showWar and the Obama derangement syndrome
To be clear, I completely disagree with President Obama going to war with ISIS / ISIL. In fact I believe we have been conned into war and I have written several blog posts about that (here, here, here, here).
Everyone who disagree with President Obamas action should speak out against it and try to force our politicians to do what is right. Just like many of us spoke out against President Bushs illegal war in Iraq, we must speak out against this unnecessary war.
That said, America is one nation. Most on the Right, Left, and Middle gave President Bush the legitimacy the world needed to see even in disagreement. Unfortunately, President Obama is unable to get this legitimacy from the other side.
What is ironic is that President Obama has acquiesced to the military industrial complex. The President has acquiesced to the neocons. The President has acquiesced to the Republicans. So why can he not get the needed support overtly? This is the Obama derangement syndrome. It throws rational thought out the door. GOP Congressman Doug Lamborns (R-CO) attack on the President is the latest case.

(37,326 posts)acquiesced to ANYONE on the right, but reacted to war declared on US by getting a REAL coalition together of Muslim nations to fight with us against ISIL, unlike Bush's fake "coalition of the willing" and the fake connection between Saddam and al Qaeda and the lies about the non-existent WMD.

(4,058 posts)I said he acquiesced to many who want war. Again ISIS is not an existential threat to the US and leading this effort abroad is at the expense of much to be done at home. I am a supporter of Obama and think at this point he had no choice because the media frenzy convince Americans and with that the President has acted. That is my educated opinion.

(37,326 posts)He took his time (with Kerry's help) to get a REAL coalition to fight a REAL threat.
