Good news...Nate Silver just last Tuesday had the Republicans' chances of winning the Senate at 68%...that figure is now down to 60%. He even gives Michelle Nunn a 51% chance of winning in Georgia! It's going to come down to which side is able to turn out more voters.
The DSCC is trying to raise $ to fund the get-out-the-vote efforts in IA, CO, NC, NH, GA and the other Senate battleground states. If we win these states (this year's "Big 5" , we will keep the Senate, no matter what happens in AK, AR, LA, SD, or KY. Please donate if you haven't already. Even a small amount will help.
MoveOn.org is recruiting phone banking volunteers to call Democratic voters in the battleground states.
Get-out-the-vote efforts are the reason Mitt Romney isn't in the White House and Sharron Angle isn't in the Senate. We need to do everything possible for the next ten (10) days to keep the Senate.
Let's do this!

(3,003 posts)She has not been able to get her polling numbers up on a consistent basis and the fact is Kentucky is still dominated by rural hicks. Plus, it's hard for a Kentuckian to vote against a man who could very well be the Senate Majority Leader in the next Congress which would mean a lot of federal $$ for their state. Haven't given up on Alison, but I think the "Big 5" this year are New Hampshire (Shaheen), Iowa (Braley), Colorado (Udall), North Carolina (Hagan), and Georgia (Nunn). If we win those states, we will keep the Senate.
The "bonus" states (as I call them) are Kentucky (Grimes), Arkansas (Pryor), Alaska (Begich), and Louisiana (Landrieu). I do not believe we have a chance of winning South Dakota.

(3,003 posts)Perdue's entire campaign has been saying that Nunn = Obama. Nunn has successfully pointed out Perdue's record of outsourcing countless Georgia jobs overseas, and the Republicans are now having to spend money in a race they believed would be a cakewalk.
