All those annoying emails and calls from the Democrats that is driving you crazy

They drive me crazy too.

And while it may seem so over the top sometimes.. the world will end etc etc..

I think we might all want to step back and see there maybe truth in that.

If we lose the state houses.. the right is poised to put in judges who will try and overturn by activist changes from the right...all movements to equality.. control of our own bodies.. the ability to even get a chance to vote.

This is huge.

Hillary or Elizabeth or Bernie, or who ever you want to see in office in 2016 could be totally hamstrung .. if we lose state houses .. even if gain governorships.. the state houses can then completely tie up the governors.

At some point in time, we have to get past this notion, one person is going to do it all and make the world perfect..

Good luck everyone knocking on doors today, calling, giving rides to the polls on Tuesday...With all of us pushing and working, we can get it done.. and stop the right in their tracks..

1. Many of these PACs basically just pay their own salaries
Sun Nov 2, 2014, 02:31 PM
Nov 2014

That has become a sad reality of our political process. People understand it takes a lot of money to compete, so there are all sorts of charlatans out there raising money on the basis of how bad the other guy is. There is some evidence that many of these grouts are little more than shells that just enrich the people who set up the PAC. It is basically the Newt Gingrich scam times 10,000.

There are a lot of groups trolling for funds on the left. I bet they are not all putting 90% of the money they raise into the election battle. I bet a lot of them have overheads of at least 75%.

But how do we know?

I am only giving directly to campaigns this time around, and only ones that I really trust.

but that things could be very very dire if we lose.. and I know I have gotten the emails.. where you want to throw up your hands.. but I got to thinking about the picture beyond asking for money.. its these judgeships, state houses that could go so far right, that we could start taking huge steps backwards .. what these state houses are going to do on the state level is possibly more dire than that 2010 did in redistricting..

its a really crucial election..

2. I am more pessimistic than you

The vigor at which they pursue 'small donations' far exceeds the vigor with which they promote a Democratic party philosophy that would attract members of the electorate to our party ...

No matter how much MONEY I give them, they are still not providing a persuasive argument in favor of Democratic party control of government ...

Me ? ... I have been convinced ALL MY LIFE that the Democratic party is a far better party, with far better policies than the GOP ... But I do not need to be convinced of that > They need to convince other citizens to get behind them and support this party at the polls ...

The Democratic party, for the better part of the last 30 years, have been unable to enunciate a vision for unified success - Where each citizen stands to benefit from a world molded around Democratic party principles of fairness for working families ... fair wages and benefits and workplace rules, public education, commons infrastructure development, etc etc ...

Why cant they speak up and define themselves and what they stand for ? .... As a child, I listened to John Kennedy speak, and was immediately drawn in to this notion of shared sacrifice for the betterment of society as a whole, and how each person could contribute to that positive development, and be rewarded for the effort ....

Where is that dialogue between Party 'thinkers' and the general population ? ... Where are the thoughtful orators who can piece together a narrative, a vision, of how this nation of citizens can mold our world to favor WORKERS, and how everybody benefits the most from such a society .... I bought into that philosophy in the 60's ... I am still here because of that ...

Feeling very lonely out here (philosophically speaking) ... When the hard questions roll in from those who straddle the fence, the Democrats seem to be absent .... unwilling to refute the GOP AND promote their own vision and explanation of what is and what should be ... The TeaHadists are running riot over the electorate with their asinine message of selfishness, hatred, xenophobia and greed .... Where is the response from the Democratic party ? .... Where are those party intelligentsia who counteract that ugly message with a vision of inclusion and fairness for ALL citizens ? ...

I was told today, by Nancy Pelosi, that I was procrastinating ... Even though I have donated approx 20 times this cycle - 3 times yesterday ...

Yeah Nancy .... I am a lazy bastard ... The lazy bastard who has been sending you 'small donations' nearly 50 times in the last two elections ...

Sheeesh .... CLICK !

12. Those who send such mail (I've received a lot of them, too) never read the mail
Mon Nov 3, 2014, 01:40 PM

we send back. I don't use credit cards and haven't done so in many years. I've
written to these guys many times that I send checks only - to no avail. They
keep on sending such mail.

I no longer had any use for Nancy Pelosi ever since her "Impeachment is off the
table" of January, 2007, but I don't blame her for the present mail sent in her name.

4. You make an important point.

We here in MI have had a Rethug House, Senate, Governor, AG, SoS for too long. I think many who couldn't be bothered before are paying attention this mid-term though. Our state has suffered, as many here know.

I hope other states do not make the same mistake and end up in complete control of the Rs. I have a feeling this election will be good for Dems, sure hope I'm right!

Lansing.

Why is it that Democrats always get punished for making good public policies?

And they not only get punished; they get replaced by the nuttiest, most far right of Republicans.

Really, what has Rick Snyder done? People have been duped by this guy. Even some reasonable Democrats have been duped by him.

13. Don't forget all the various types of fraud practiced during the elections. I
Mon Nov 3, 2014, 02:00 PM
Nov 2014

wouldn't be surprised if the Repubs. have never won any election honestly.

I also believe Dems. have rarely fought hard and certainly not consistently
against this fraud. This, of course, makes the Repubs. very happy, and
enables them to cheat with impunity.

For example, you must have read the thread on Dem. voters seeing their
vote turn Republican right in front of their eyes. (I think these machines
have gone wrong. They are old. Those machines working well don't turn
a Dem. vote to a Repub. one until later, after one has completed one's
voting).

If the above situation were reversed, how do you think the Repubs. would
have reacted?

Just imagine the degree of cheating that is going on across our nation right
now! But, if many Dems. take this lying down, can you blame the Repubs.
for taking advantage of the situation?

It takes two to tango!

they have been calling to tell people they could vote online... When I read that post, I said if they can trace it down to the office that is doing that.. arrests need to be made, and jail time spent.. this hijacking elections is not laughing matter..or trying to set people up..like that little nimrod did with ACORN..

10. The emails drive me absolutely nuts, and I turn off my US phone when I'm overseas
Mon Nov 3, 2014, 03:25 AM
Nov 2014

And I've been in Europe since late August.

I've donated into five figures to DFA, the DNC, and a LONG list of candidates from Senate races that are nail-biting (such as Iowa) Governors' races that are probably lost causes (TX) and some that are probably not (ME, FL), House races I think have a shot (Foust in VA, Barber in AZ), and even to Sandra Fluke for her state senate race in CA because I'd love for her to have a bigger platform to rub it in Limbaugh's face.

But I am totally fed up with the constant barrage of email telling me the sky is falling. The Republicans DO have a multi-billion dollar advantage, it's true. Not only the Kochs, but free right wing media, National Hate Radio, and, of course, Fox "News" must be included in their financial arsenal, because, quite simply they ARE part of it. Plants in the MSM, such as Candy Crowley and Chuck Todd at NBC must also be included on their balance sheet.

Still, if our message can't be expressed in such a way that it shines through, then we need some new PR, and a few less emails. My U.S. cell phone rang off the hook this summer when I was Stateside. I'm glad it's off here, or I'd have given it the same treatment as the ring at the end of the third film of the LOTR trilogy.
