GOP's Midterm Rout Shapes 2016 Presidential Race

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The 2016 presidential race was about the new Republican-controlled Congress even before the polls closed Tuesday night.

As the GOP rout became clear late on election night, would-be Democratic front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton found herself with a ready-made foil in the Republican-led Congress that begins next year just as a few high-profile senators seized on their new status as a springboard into 2016.

Some Republican governors already have begun to try to distance themselves from unpopular congressional leaders in both parties.

"I think governors make much better presidents than members of Congress," said Gov. Scott Walker, R-Wis., who just won his third election in four years and is contemplating a presidential bid.

Republicans are facing their most unpredictable presidential primary campaign in a generation, while Clinton remains the overwhelming favorite for Democrats who are reeling from heavy losses in last week's midterm elections.

because Hillary hate lurks in both parities.... one more than the other....the outcome might be another rout.

The Republican nominee will be a Member of Generation X. Clash of the Titans....Democratic Baby Boomer vs. Republican Gen X. Rather exciting election in 2016 I predict.

So many reservations about Hillary Clinton and her electability. The fact that she doesn't run a perfect campaign speaks volumes of her chances. We live in a time where women are still seen as inferior by too many and sexism runs rampant. She is extremely polarizing and if she runs a conservative, pro-wallstreet, anti-immigrant, only slightly pro-gay and pro-woman campaign, with no emphasis on continuing to improve race relations - she's doomed. Absolutely doomed. Because major voting blocks will not turn out for her.

Also, does anyone else feel like she's just another Martha Coakley? I really like Coakley, I like a lot of her platform, but I just don't see how she can win. Plus, she's not really that well liked.

What specifically is "Center" about Clinton's policies at the moment? Her platform isn't exactly well known right now, especially because she's not on the record very often.
