Bernie, Hillary, Martin and Lincoln - Forget Florida !

A recipe for Florida election fraud and disenfranchisement

1. Get a buddy elected as governor - Check !

In the 1990s, Scott was a partner of George W. Bush as co-owner of the Texas Rangers

2. Have the Governor appoint a Good Soldier Yes Man as Secretary of State - Ken Detzner - Check !

Online Voter Registration

Although the online registration would not be implemented until after 2016 - the behavior of Detzner as a yes man is apparent now.

Secretary of State Ken Detzner spoke at a Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections conference, where many members are still stinging from his last-minute surprise opposition to an online voter registration law that they thought he was on board with.

Pasco elections supervisor Brian Corley, the association's new president, noted that Detzner in private meetings said he was enthusiastic about voter registration but would have to check with Gov. Rick Scott

"On any of these issues, while I may have a personal opinion, I am required to interact and interface with the governor's office," he said.

Scott's voting chief says 'forces of evil' can derail online registration
Gov. Rick Scott's elections chief got roughed up again Thursday in the Senate as he continues to oppose a bipartisan bill for an online system of voter registration by 2017, which already exists in 20 states.

Appearing before the Senate Appropriations Committee, Secretary of State Ken Detzner said his agency has no plan to implement the change and he's worried about having to work with 67 county supervisors of election, 67 tax collectors and the state highway safety agency.

He raised a flurry of potential problems, including "distractions" from the 2016 presidential election and the "high risk" of computer hacking, cyber-attacks and "the forces of evil" that seek to disrupt Florida elections.

"I would prefer to have a plan in place before I knew that I had an implementation date," Detzner said. "This is too important to get wrong."

None of the 20 states with online voter registration have reported problems. Florida election supervisors say electronic registration will save money and reduce the possibility of human error and voter fraud.

Extending Poll Hours
In 2012:
Detzner said early voting didn't need to be extended an extra day, despite long lines and fewer required voting hours than four years ago.

3. Purge as many traditional Democratic voters as possible - Check !

Jeb's 'sloppy and irresponsible' purge of Florida's voter rolls disenfranchised African Americans

Jeb Bush still doesn't have a good answer for his effort to purge Florida's voter rolls of convicted felons in 1999, the year before the infamous election in which several hundred Sunshine State votes would secure the presidency for his brother, George W. Bush.

Last week, Jeb was queried about the purge that reportedly denied thousands of legal voters of their opportunity to weigh in on the 2000 election. Scott Conroy reports:

Asked during a press conference during a campaign swing through Iowa last week whether he believes that African-Americans were disproportionately affected by those efforts, he waffled a bit before rephrasing the question in his own manner.
“I don’t think so,” he said. “I don’t think there was any -- no, if you’re going to say, ‘Did the Florida Department of Law Enforcement target African-Americans?’ No.”

According to a 2012 study by The Sentencing Project, a nonprofit group advocating for judicial sentencing reform, Florida continues to have the highest rate of African-American disenfranchisement in the country with 23 percent of the adult African-American population in the state barred from voting.

over a number of years - all for the expressed purpose of future victory.

Jeb lost the governorship in 1994 to Lawton Chiles - he had plenty of time to figure out how he could win the next time.

Wouldn't be surprised if "allowing" Obama to win to feign legitimacy in 2012 wasn't in his master plan as well.

I would love to know why Florida dropped Secretary of State as an elected position in 1998 - but can't find much info online. Found a list of members of the committee to amend the FL constitution - but no Bush crony popped out - would have to cross reference each name. Bet my life there's some connection there.
