CNN: Bernie Sanders on Economics, Taxes, 'State of the Union' Video Clip of One Show Topic, 7/5

Last edited Sun Jul 5, 2015, 06:25 PM - Edit history (1)

Sen. Bernie Sanders answers host Jake Tapper's question about raising taxes on CNN's 'State of the Union' Sunday program today. This particular question/topic was one of about a half a dozen that Tapper initiated during the 5-6 minute interview and Sanders responded to with additional information on issues and his views.
Other question/topics raised by Tapper and included in Sanders replies were about closing tax loopholes for corporations, income inequality and supporting education and jobs for high levels of youth unemployment in the US among blacks, Hispanics and whites.

The COMMENTS below the CNN Video segment state that Bernie Sanders would approve of three economists for his cabinet. In fact, Tapper first brought up the names, and Sanders agreed they were credible particularly *Robert Reich. Not in the comments or Video clip here is that **Sanders also added he would not use economists of past administrations that are from Wall Street.

last time, now we know.

No more Foxes guarding the henhouses, in Intel, Clapper eg, in Finance, Geithner, Bernanki et al in Defense, Gates et al.

Clear out all these foxes and get some Progressives who are RATIONAL and have no agendas to protect the crimes we know were committed but have been protected by these foxes for too long now.

Elizabeth Warren as Treasury Sec would scare them to death. Watching her grilling Geithner who was trying so hard to avoid her questions, angry that anyone would dare to question him at all about what he was doing with our money, shows that we badly need honest people in all these positions.

Has Summers said anything nasty and condescending to Warren lately? After the last time 'tone it down' over roll back of Dodd-Frank maybe. Bernie responded well to Robert Reich and he did great in the entire interview which I can't find the Video of so far. Will keep checking.

Go Bernie!

Sanders 2016!

No Hawks - I would like to see him exploit the Progressive Caucus for personnel...or alternatively, leave them there to support his initiatives and bring in some people from outside the establishment....There are a lot of peace activists out there that know the military...

for those with better approaches. New blood helps. Bernie said wait till he's won the election when Tapper went on. It was a fast, compressed interview session but demonstrated Sanders ability to comprehend questions, provide succinct, intelligent answers and counter a couple misrepresentations. He did an outstanding job today.

more than the chicken hawks on the right. And Kucinich's idea for a Dept of Peace is excellent. State Dept, Barbare Lee maybe, or someone with a similar voting record if she isn't VP which would be great also.

Rep. Barbara Lee is excellent. And of course there's Eliz. Warren and many who wish to see this country move forward not back.
