erica Ferrera isn't wasting her time chastising Donald Trump for his derogatory comments about Mexican immigrants. Instead, the Golden Globe winner is thanking him for it.
The CEO faced a firestorm after when announcing his bid for the Republican presidential nomination, he described the U.S. as "a dumping ground for everybody else's problems" and reduced Mexican immigrants to people who only bring their problems, drugs, crime and rape stateside.
Unlike Macy's, NBC and Univision, which cut ties with the pundit's various money-making endeavors, the "Ugly Betty" star called him out for being "incredibly ignorant and racist" in an open letter titled "Thank you, Donald Trump!" that was published by the Huffington Post and received much praise on Facebook and Twitter.
So why is the 31-year-old actress from "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" thanking the billionaire? Because she believes that his statements "ignited a fire" in the Latino community.

It's good to see America be so politically active. She's a big Hillary supporter, and is even working for her to win the primary (and then the GE).

"Governor O'Malley is the only candidate in the race with a proven record of helping Latino families," said Gabi Domenzain, the O'Malley campaign's Director of Public Engagement, in a statement to Latin Post. "From championing drivers licenses for New Americans, passing the DREAM act in the legislature and leading Maryland to become the first state to defend it at the ballot box, to increasing government contracts to latino owned businesses by 157 percent and making Maryland public schools the best in the nation five years in a row."
"From the start he has engaged the Latino community through its media, appearing on both Univision and Telemundo national networks, and its organizations; in fact his first event after launching his presidential bid was before the USHCC (U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce)," added Domenzain. "We look forward to continuing to engage Americans and New Americans alike at the National Council of La Raza to highlight Governor O'Malley's record of leading on the most pressing issues affecting them todayand putting forth his vision for new leadership
