Fewer debates actually helps Bernie.

Bernie is surging while Hillary's numbers are in free fall.

By the time the first debate starts in October, Bernie will have a significant lead over Hillary because of his momentum.

Doesn't this mean the DNC is actually helping Bernie?

And make him a part of the process, it seems he is being included just fine.

I was referring to the OP, which ludicrously asserts that a delayed, restricted debate schedule benefits Sanders. It doesn't.

I'm not trying to have it both ways; you're not reading what I said properly. Bernie is a candidate for the Dem nomination; acknowledging that isn't a "favor" unless you're one of the "but he's not really one of us" idjits. Bernie's a small d democrat and has been for ages. I'm not hung up on the color of his jersey.

The surge isn't working. But you knew that.

All the HRC challengers could use a debate.

"Favorability" and "trustworthiness" do not equate to voting. And Hillary's polling numbers are in the high 50s, where they've been for more than a year.

I am for Bernie and he is doing fine and picking up steam. The debates would actually give some oxygen to the campaigns of the other candidates currently polling in the single digits. I am supporting more debates despite the fact it might reduce my candidate of choices status as the presumptive challenger to Hillary.

Doing the right thing is doing the right thing. Period.

And bad strategy is very bad strategy.

His opponents get a free ride when Americans remain unexposed to the true agenda of Democratic Socialism. Bernie represents the FDR principles of our Party as opposed to the collaboration between social liberals and Wall Street that the DNC has become.

The more Bernie is given airtime to explain his goals and solutions the more widespreading his appeal. Look for ex at the post above "Ten Ways Bernie Would Make the Ecomony Work For Everybody." Do you think there is any sane, working middle class taxayer who would disagree with any of his solutions? Many of them are able to be enacted by Executive Order too.

Bernie always cites specifics and solutions...he is especially masterful at framing & focusing discussions and debates on the important issues (n.b. how well he so far controls the gotcha Chuck Todds) Both Repub & corporate Dems biggest attack point is that he is a "socialist". The more airtime Bernie is given to explain Democratic Socialism and his commensurate reasonable solutions to the oligarchy our country has become, the better for his candidacy and for voters.

Bernie has expressed enthusiasm for more debates. Even preprimary debates with Republicans, which would be awesome. Repubs' hermetic bubble is never going to be pierced in their own debates or via any of the stodge dominated Sunday morning shows. Judging from MSNBC's coverage of the debates last night, even it (our supposedly "liberal network') has become mindlessly stenographic to rightwing propagandist politicians.

A good sign they think Bernie has lasting potential which is good.

The drama over this is OTT.

2016 is very different than 2008, technology, media, and communication just aren't the same so it's easier for candidates to get their messages out. Even though the viewership was huge last night I don't think debates really have the same weight they used to and by limiting them they make them more important and relevant.
