2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumPolls say its 47% to 47% - but the electoral votes are what count.
Last I saw it was Obama 240 / Rmoney 154
Which paints a different picture, and should really be what the MSM discusses.
Obama up by quite a bit. He wins OH and PA and he's in. Rmoney has to run the table to win....

(308 posts)The national polls are not too good for Obama today.
1. Down to a Tie in Gallup
2. Behind by 3 in Rasmussen
3. Tied in ABC News
But yes, Obama remains ahead in all of the electoral college projections I've seen, from the Huffington Post to Nate Silver at NYT.

(3,596 posts)I would prefer that people think this is a very close race.
If people begin to think that based on the EC, Obama is in a relatively strong position, contributions and support will wane.
It is much better to make people think things are very dicey and their efforts, financial and otherwise are needed.
Complacency is what causes many losses.

(8,434 posts)The "fight" over the Bush tax breaks is just firing up. The "news" networks and "polling" organizations are just awaiting their marching orders and time of attack.

(5 posts)Whenever I see this stuff. This will not be a close election. Romney has absolutely no real support. The only people who will vote for him are people who label themselves as "Republican" and have done no research on the issues.

(22,143 posts)It's just the way it is. We can't have 18% of Philly and 10% in each of the surrounding suburbs be disenfranchised and win the state. And that's without even knowing the percentage in Pittsburgh.
We're in big trouble. These laws must be struck down or held back else we're looking at President Romney and a totally red congress. The final nail in the coffin for the country.

(16,646 posts)You don't keep alot of viewers if you start out with "there's nothing to talk about here". There #1 purpose is to sell soap. Can't tell your audience that there's nothing interesting to talk about.
