Watch Young Senator Barack Obama Campaign for Bernie Sanders in 2006

?t=28

"When ordinary people decide they want a different future for themselves and for their children and their grandchildren, and they come together and work at a grassroots level, it doesn't matter how much money is spent," Obama said, previewing a theme that would dominate his first presidential campaign, "it doesn't matter what the powers and principalities say; we can bring about a change."

Obama also teased Sanders about his cult following in Vermont.

"How do you campaign where everybody knows you?" he asked. "I mean, what's the point?"

Sanders would go on to win his race with 67% of the vote.

That's funny. I always think of the word 'cult' when I think of Bernie Sanders.

3. Do you? How odd! I think of Americans, most of whom never heard of him

until about three months ago, and half of whom STILL haven't heard of him, though they will. Americans who care about their country, who are sick to death of the corruption of our electoral system by those who are obsessed with money and power for all the wrong reasons.

Obama, as the article stated, was TEASING Bernie playfully. Because the truth is, when people DO learn about Bernie and his long record of fighting for all the important issues facing this nation, they too tend to like what they see and hear.

5. Yes, because Vermonters are known for their slavish devotion to politicians.

If Bernie (a flatlander) has a cult following in Vermont it's because he's earned it.

can muster 2/3 of the voting public.

Perhaps Bernie shall win the Presidential vote with the same margin as he did his previous Senate race too!

representatives accountable, and when they run on one thing and then change their minds once elected, that is when the people have to become involved.

SS was 'put on the deficit table' by Obama, I supported him because of his very different stand on SS during the campaign.

Primaries are good for democracy and if Bernie breaks any of HIS promises you can bet we will be challenging him too.

13. Wrong, spoken like one of millions of Americans who know exactly how it is run and who knows

that is exactly the problem and who is now going to do things differently from the past, millions of voters are now going to support someone who also knows exactly how it is run and knows that THAT IS THE PROBLEM.

And clearly a majority of Americans want their government to run FOR THEM. Which is why, because they too know how government is run, we have so many who have given up on the entire 'rigged system' but are now finding there is someone they can trust again and are willing to support him.

And anyone who says 'suck it up, this is how it is' and continues to try to work WITHIN a rigged system is going to find out that they are in the minority.
