2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumAll you Uber Bernie Sander’s Supporters on D.U.
I understand your Passion for Bernie Sanders and I agree with most of it..But when you repeat the bullshit email lRepublican talking points as a reason why Hillary is in trouble..you are just giving these idiots ammunition to hurt our chances with the 2016 generals...Yea, go after her Iraqi Vote, her ties with Big Bank and other talking points which already exist...but you might as well hit her on Benghazi if you are that desperate to bring her down..
I will fully support either one of these fine candidates in the election.....

(62,444 posts)Uber Bernie Supporters is an app that will send a Bernie Supporter to you on demand.
Like, if a Hillary partisan calls you a racist, you can just tap on your location and request UberBernieBlack, and an African American Bernie supporter will be dispatched to your location - usually in under five minutes (offer not valid in Vermont).

(53,930 posts)I am hoping that this becomes the dominating controversy of the 2016 primary.
cascadiance
(19,537 posts)... but I DO have a problem with her in effect creating this problem to start with by choosing to PRIVATIZE her email instead of using government IT infrastructure that is a REPUBLICAN strategy (so they probably won't complain about her doing something that Republicans have done and they want all politicians to do by moving away from government provided solutions for privatized solutions).
She did so surreptitiously without explaining fully through today WHY she did this, that perhaps might prompt us to fix government IT infrastructure, if that was the reason she did so. When she did so, she basically gave Republicans ammunition to build up conspiracy theories (whether they are valid or not) that she's hiding some things that she shouldn't be.
Like I have said over and over again! I DON'T CARE ABOUT THIS BENGHAZI RED HERRING!!!
But I DO care that we have a president that exercises good judgement as the leader of this country and arguably the free world. If she can't exercise good judgement on where she should have her email kept, that IS an issue for us to talk about!
Autumn
(44,972 posts)all on her own.
busterbrown
(8,515 posts)Seems she did a pretty good freaking job while she was Sec.Of State..I think she exercised plenty of good judgment during her stay..
cascadiance
(19,537 posts)... which she seems to feel that to the public she needs to "study more" before she takes a public position on it. Did she push something while SOS that she "didn't understand"? Hmm...
But that still doesn't take away that it was in many people's books POOR judgment of secretly privatizing (Republican solution!!!) her email without explanation as to WHY she did so. What benefit did she get from doing so? I think Americans are owed an explanation if they want to feel like she made good judgement in doing so. The only thing they are seeing is that this decision fueled a lot of Republican speculative stories about her doing things that she may or may not have done illegally in with this *privatized email*.

(46,179 posts)I have very little at all to say about Clinton, and when I do, it's only in response to something someone said here.
I'm generally too busy talking about Bernie to bother with Clinton, who simply doesn't register on my "need to talk about" scale.
Meanwhile, if you want something positive, and positively hilarious, I just watched a video in the Sanders group that's a must see.

We disagree with her on issues. It isn't our fault if her stand on issues is weak. She could be a fighter, be she seems to spend her fight on things that she kind of help create.
The whole email thing is just DUMB. She should have taken into consideration of what President Obama asked for (er...perhaps even demanded), the Freedom of Information Act, the rightwing and their hound dogs...
This all could have been avoided with a little thought.

(11,495 posts)I don't post negative about either Bernie or Hillary, simply because in the end I will vote for whoever wins the nomination.
Now if you take a look at the first page of this board on any given day, and you take the time to actually count the number of negative posts, and see which side is doing the most attacking, I think you will find it's those who "claim" to be Bernie supporters with the most negative posts. Try it and see what you come up with.

(10,721 posts)"Yea, go after her Iraqi Vote, her ties with Big Bank and other talking points which already exist"
Wait, are you saying progressives/leftists shouldn't express concern over those matters? You even seem to be suggesting those are "Republican talking points."
Listen, the email stuff is much ado about nothing and I think almost everyone at DU knows that. But there is a valid leftist critique of Clinton and the party establishment, and I'm not sure why that's so difficult to understand unless you're someone who thinks "Democrat" is synonymous with "progressive." Which is hard to believe considering today's mainstream Democrats are, in many ways, to the *right* of previous Republican presidents.

(279 posts)agreed...when push comes to shove I will vote for Hillary...I won't be happy about it but I will vote for her. On the other hand I absolutely abhor both Hillary supporters and Bernie supporters who resort to right wing lies and tactics to attack their Democratic rival. I've lived through the vast right wing conspiracy and it is a reality...liberals, progressive, democrats, social democrats have no business resorting to the same tactics in defense of their candidate.
Hell, I know Hillary is DLC, a corporatist, a DINO etc. etc. etc. but the alternative is unthinkable.

(22,000 posts)It's been an often repeated meme. I don't have time to dredge through posts, but there are some Clinton supporters who claim that.
