Eeeeks. Well......I can't say I'm shocked.

As a result, Clintons once-commanding national lead over Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who is running to her left, and Vice President Biden, who is considering joining the race, has been cut by two-thirds. Both men are now polling in the low 20s against her.
The poll suggests that the historic significance of Clintons campaign is being overtaken by other forces.
This isn't boding especially will for her.

Sooner or later the email scandal would hurt her. I saw this coming a long time ago....
There is also an article on HuffPo which talks about her losing support among women. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/clinton-female-voters_55f71c2ae4b042295e372a41
She's in trouble.

(1,307 posts)When they have nothing bad to report they just make shit up. Then people who "Can't say they are shocked" buy into the rhetoric.
There are several polls however, it's not just one. Check the links. I say I'm not shocked because as I've been saying, people don't want another Clinton or another Bush in the WH. One only need to look at her favorability ratings. /shrug
Bush is not going to win the General, even if he wins the primary. Clinton is a Clinton only by marriage. Welcome to DU!
And as you so subtly (or not) point out, Clinton may not win the Primary. But in any case, she is a Clinton by birth only. You don't have to be psychic to see you will be granted your wish!
Let's be frank, when people hear the name "Clinton" these days, they aren't thinking of Bill. You're splitting hairs here.

(11,417 posts)stories about Hillary losing support among women. Where did they go? Hillary's numbers go down but Bernie stays in the Twenties.
My guess is the mix of Republicans to Democrats in the polls. Several polls had more repubs than Dems and found Hillary wanting.
There is great pressure out there to derail Hillary and it isn't coming from Sanders, though his supporters relish any bad news Hillary gets. I think the idea is that powers to be think Hillary will be the Dem nominee and anything they can do to weaken her now is to their advantage.
The funny thing is that Sanders supporters think this is between Bernie and Hillary and in reality it is between Hillary and the right. Sanders is ground clutter to them.

(11,417 posts)Hillary goes down. Where are those voters? Did they turn right wing because Hillary had a private email server?
There isn't one bit of positive news about Hillary from the MSM. They are out to destroy her campaign and it isn't because they love Bernie.
magical thyme
(14,881 posts)no, they did not "turn right wing" because Hillary had a private email server. They were more likely "turned off" by the months of stonewalling and lawyerly responses, and reminder of the old Clinton drama.

(11,417 posts)Hillary's life is an open book. You can know more about what she has done for women and children than you can about Bernie.
Hillary has a record of accomplishments to point to.
OLDMADAM
(82 posts)She hides everything because she is a Clinton, living above the rules.. I know we are suppose to turn a deaf ear, and turn a blind eye because the right wing reports on their scandalous behavior..
Well, I can see and hear fine and have the ability to form my own opinions.. I know I am low count member on DU, because I hate the nitpicking that goes on around here, and an easy target, but I am a faithful Democratic voter, and not only want to win, I want to be proud of my vote, and my elected officials..

(8,352 posts)Her own actions, however, brought the scandal to the forefront. Yes, the GOP and the MSM are running like mad with it. And yes, it is having a negative effect.
Why push then as the inevitable candidate the one with the most baggage, the one most likely to be at the center of a scandal(real or not!), and the one most likely to be damaged by negative publicity?
Tommy2Tone
(1,307 posts)If, like you say, we should disqualify Hillary even if the scandals are real or not, then should we disqualify Bernie when they turn on him? I guess we should have disqualified Obama because there is a question if he is a Muslim or if he was born in Nigera? I mean they are not real but using your criteria where do we draw the line?
TM99
(8,352 posts)The right will naturally attack Sanders just as they did Obama. Guess what? Neither of them have hooks for the lies and the bullshit.
There was literally zero evidence that Obama was a Muslim born in Nigeria. There is, however, sadly proof that Clinton lied about Chelsea jogging at Ground Zero on 9/11. There is, however, proof that Clinton lied about being under sniper fire in Bosnia. There is, however, proof that her email server and its usage was out of the ordinary. Her lies about it have provide fuel for the fire in the GOP belly.
There is a difference between expecting GOP attacks on any of the Democratic candidates and putting forth a candidate who has problems with truth and has had scandals around her for 30 years. That is where I draw the line.

(16,286 posts)We have known for many years the right HATES Hillary.
Almost as much as they hate the skin on Obama.
There are many rightwingers working on ALL message boards tearing away at Hillary day after day.
In some places they have taken control and the Democrats and supporters of whoever the nominee will be are badly outnumbered and silenced.
djean111
(14,255 posts)And I think she is the candidate the GOP Congress is least likely to work with, except for things that are Third way items, like cutting safety nets, the TPP, and war war war, and fracking.
In the end, the voting will be the deciding thing, not posters on an internet board. And, at this point, you surely don't think there is a post or a topic that would cause anyone to switch their support to Hillary, right?
And never mind the fact that most of the people choosing Bernie are doing so over his economic and social policy proposals that are specific and his record of standing up to wealthy and powerful interests his entire career.
djean111
(14,255 posts)is because they "hate" Hillary. They don't really care about the issues thing, and seem astounded that others do, and that others do the research. This is a personality-driven entitlement event for them, seems to me.
I do wonder if we will be seeing that little Hillary IS TOO a liberal chart again, though. Since even Hillary admits that she is not.
merrily
(45,251 posts)Plus, so many have Clinton fatigue. I don't know if hate is the right word, but, whatever the word is, it doesn't translate to great chances for success in the general.
The DNC is really in its own head on this primary/general, including as to Biden. Bernie and Trump prove MANY Americans could not be more over the same old, same old, so with who do they try to supplant Hillary? Biden.

AT the end of the day, I will likely be supporting HIllary as she is likely the candidate and I dont know if the all day long bashing of her on DU and elsewhere is repairable.
When they bash endlessly their agenda is clear.
One of the TALKING POINTS the right is using is having Women say things like
"I dont trust her"
yeah, right
If you are a Woman and the GOP takes the WH, you are not safe any longer in America.
djean111
(14,255 posts)as a woman I recognize that the TPP, a "more muscular" foreign policy, and fracking will make EVERYBODY unsafe. Women, children, and men. Making HRC's campaign about women was a big mistake, methinks. As is looking obvious. How is implying that women will vote for Hillary any different than implying that POC voted for Obama because he is black? Sexism instead of racism.

(27,670 posts)she will significantly improve my condition. She is extremely fickle regarding what she claims to believe; her history shows a great deal of disingenuous, duplicitous behavior.
I feel that her primary interest in running for President is to represent the billionaires, giant multinational corporate interests, and large financial institutions. Although I believe I may possibly benefit from her Presidency, any consideration for advancement in my social and economic condition will be secondary to her primary interest of serving profit interests, and I simply can't count on her to do take a break from her service to corporations and take a hammer to the glass ceiling, or vigilantly and steadfastly protect and advance my right to have control over my own body.
Bernie Sanders has a long history of honesty, forthrightness, and consistency in his beliefs and actions concerning my rights as a woman, and member of other minority groups. I trust Bernie Sanders to place my interests, and the interests of my children and grandchildren as human beings first and foremost, when executing his populist agenda as US President.
It is clear from observing Clinton's tenure as Secretary of State that her primary interest is in serving the wealthiest 10% of Americans, and that just ain't me in any way shape or form.
I'm relieved that many other women are waking up, and are now realizing that Bernie will actually do what he says, and do everything in his power to help achieve equality for the women of the United States, to the very best of his ability.
