2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumFrom the Memphis Democrat - "Lightning Hit My Heart"
I am not a "religious" person, but I try to be tolerant of the beliefs of others. So I am not endorsing the sermon here per se. But I was impressed to read this article and decided to share it as yet more evidence that the Liberty University address is indeed having an impact. This is likely neither the first nor the last testimony to that effect, but I hope some here will find it a worthy read.

(65,409 posts)1. Pastor Jim is now doing a series of "Sanders Sermons." This from "Daily Kos":
Jim, the Evangelical Pastor/Therapist who responded so movingly to Bernie Sander's speech at Liberty University has received overwhelming response and pleas to continue with his sermons on the connection between Christian theology and Liberal/Progressive Politics.
He says he will prepare The Sanders Sermons on different topics. Today he has sent out this audio called The Stranger where he makes the Biblical argument for compassionate immigration policy
Jim is a Liberty University Alumnus, Evangelical Pastor, and former G. W. Bush staffer ( emphasis added).

From Reddit:
My first recording (https://clyp.it/...) talking about how Bernie's presidency would be gospel for the poor was listened to hundreds of thousands of times. In the tens of thousands of comments I heard people saying they needed more of this. The Sanders Sermons is my attempt to explain in Biblical terms why I support the Bernie Sanders platform. Thank you for all your love and support. I hope these words help in some small way to change the world. [Side Note: Senator Sanders - if you'd like to set up a pre-debate revival meeting at a church in Las Vegas, I would like to be apart of it.]
