2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumEverything is not a conspiracy.
The media does not support Hillary, they have hounded her and actually printed fake stories about her in major news papers.
She won the debate last night.
The media aint coddling her or forcing her on you. They hate her guts.

(5,217 posts)competition is tight, forcing candidates to dump ca$h into ads. And they will do whatever it takes to keep those ad dollars rolling in. So in a sense, yes there is a conspiracy.

(3,498 posts)The media LOVES the Clinton Dynasty.
Few public figures can attract as
many eyeballs as the Clintons.
Eyeballs equal advertising dollars.
Advertising dollars equal profits
They LOVE Hillary, don't deny it.

Words are my job. Bad writing is a pet peeve, especially that particular grammatical error.

(3,795 posts)This is a relative scenario, and relatively Hillary would be MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better for the status quo (including the corrupt media consolidation that has taken place) than Bernie. The media punditry response to the debates was entirely predictable from the outset. They are never going to prop up Bernie against Hillary. They'll diminish, criticize, and marginalize him whenever possible.
Bernie is the one that is a threat to the status quo. Bernie flat-out called the corporate media corrupt last night.
Of course, I do believe the corporate media will strongly favor the Republican candidate over Hillary (or Bernie) should she (he) be the nominee.

(30,481 posts)What I dislike most about the dishonest claims that they want her is that it perpetuates the Limbaugh thought of the left wing media. They are on the side of democrats. Most all of us know how dishonest that truly is. They have flat out made up stories about her while not vetting Sanders in any way and some are dim enough to think she is getting support from them. Really says a lot with respect to their depth.

(45,851 posts)A Bernie win stands to throttle back the campaign cash Niagara to the media, there's no way they will risk that.

(30,481 posts)I know people like to push their chest out and say people are scared. Fact is they would greatly profit of a President Sanders as well as Clinton. They would love the political war Sanders would start if he had power. It would be great for their business. This whole "fear" thing is just laughable. Please show me where a media outlet has done any serious vetting of Sanders. I will show you where they have KNOWINGLY lied about Clinton. Who are they in fear of? Sanders who is being treated with kid gloves or Clinton who they are knowingly lying about in an attempt to bring her down. Fear. Sound good doesn't it. lol.

(45,851 posts)The media is losing its erstwhile iron grip on public perceptions and they know it. Sanders represents something the media didn't see coming, the public going around the media for information, and they are frantic to head it off at the pass.

(16,685 posts)Or "crushing it". Hillary had a number of facepalm moments...paricularly telling Wall Street to "cut it out"....the biggest laugh line of the night where I was watching. If I were you I'd cut the hyperbole and just accept your candidate did well...unless you want to start seeing everyone highlighting her not-so-good moments.

(11,366 posts)Corporate-owned media back the corporate-owned Hillary. That's where their bread is buttered. You don't have to be a "conspiracy theorist" to see that.
Every focus group said Bernie Sanders did.
Online polls - both rigged and not - said he won.
Social media says he won.
In other words, the average person thinks he won.
And, the corporate media only pretend to hate her guts.
If she's good enough for Goldman Sachs, she's good enough for the M$M.

(35,015 posts)And to say that the media hates her guts is just a big fat lie. The media is corporate driven and Hillary is the chosen establishment candidate; they want her to win.

Interesting that some media mega-corps are top sponsors of her campaign and not Sen Sanders.
