Propaganda 101: How to Manipulate Poll Results.

Last edited Fri Oct 16, 2015, 05:34 PM - Edit history (4)

Step 1: Repeatedly say Clinton Won! Clinton Won! Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!

Step 2: Write headlines (since 60% of people only read headlines) and articles that say Clinton Won! Clinton Won! Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!Clinton Won!

Step 3: Take a poll and if you really want to hedge your bets include in your poll people who did not even watch the debate (maybe only followed what was reported by the Corporate Media or watched clips provided by the Corporate Media - see steps 1 and 2). Though, even if they watched it I'm sure we can get some people who thought someone else won to change their minds and go along with Clinton Won! And for people who really didn't think in terms of who won, we can help them decide who won.

Step 4: Repeatedly say The poll shows Clinton Won! The poll shows Clinton Won!The poll shows Clinton Won!The poll shows Clinton Won!The poll shows Clinton Won!The poll shows Clinton Won!The poll shows Clinton Won!The poll shows Clinton Won!The poll shows Clinton Won!The poll shows Clinton Won!The poll shows Clinton Won!The poll shows Clinton Won!The poll shows Clinton Won!The poll shows Clinton Won!The poll shows Clinton Won!

Step 5: Repeatedly write The poll shows Clinton Won!

Step 6: GLOAT about how you were proven right - Clinton won!

Update: I did not address online polls in this post. I am not attesting to their validity. I did find it interesting that Bernie won the focus groups. While not a valid statistical sampling of voters they were not exposed to the constant media drum of Clinton won. This is not the first time the media has repeatedly beat the drum of a message and then taken a poll that shows the American Public agreed with whatever that message was. In addition, polling people that did not even watch the debate raises serious issues of validity of poll results as does polling AFTER a continuous barrage of Candidate X won.

Bottom Line: The Corporate Media is as bad as Citizens United for Democracy. Why do you think both Democrats and Republicans spoke out against rules that allowed further media consolidation?

On edit: I watched the debate and never really considered who won. I thought Bernie did a good job considering how he was attacked on multiple fronts. Webb demonstrated a lot of decency in not going after Bernie when prompted to do so.

I noted that many of the things that Romney said were lies, but whatever he did, he won.

If you can't acknowledge reality you have lost all sense of perspective.

All three Scientific polls out show Hillary winning by a 23-30 point margin. That is fact and reality.

Sometimes, the old "if you repeat a lie often enough, people will begin to believe it" just doesn't work.

People should not use junk science to support this kind of crap. It gives science a bad name and increases the likelihood that people will dismiss valid concerns (e.g., global warming) because they no longer have any faith in science.

Look at the fella in my avatar. There is a big difference between beating a person once and beating him twice.

Steve, the atmosphere here is so poisoned that I keep my counsel to myself, lest I get more hides.

I have been around the proverbial block a time or two and I can attest I rarely meet people like this in real life.

on the basis of perception and debating skills, but won on the issues.

Then Obama won even more clearly in the second debate, debate skills, perception and on the issues, a remarkable turnaround that turned around the small poll momentum Romney got thereafter....again proving how remarkable Obama is.

Bernie has 7 more chances, Obama only had one more.

On the last show yesterday there was a bit of an effort
to step back somewhat from the "total Clinton win".
At the very end Mcdonald had Dick van Dike on, who
clearly said that Bernie was the big winner. What a
shock!

the last two days.
Especially Mark Thompson yesterday and Stephanie Miller this morning. The calls they are getting from Bernie supporters rival the wing nuts. All conspiricy bull shit.
I guess there is a Salon piece about it this morning and a Huffington Post piece also.

Almost word for word, the fact that they were winning all the online polls was "proof" that the real polls were corrupt tools of their enemy.

And in other news the sky is blue, so stiff upper lip and back to work!
