Honestly, how often do you see that description prefacing a statement by some idiotic right winger spouting opinions and platitudes about how the middle and lower class folk just need to pull ourselves by our bootstraps.
They're born into financial security, and will never have to worry about being homeless or jobless, and will never have to choose between buying food or medicine for their kids. The money to care for aging parents won't be a concern; nor will the cost of their own college educations, most if not all will be paid by mommy and daddy.
Their biggest concerns in life are where to invest their money to earn the highest rate of return; where to hide their investment income to avoid taxation; how to get their middling offspring into an ivy league university; and whether to stick with Audi or move up to Mercedes.
Their biggest joy in life appears to be telling others less fortunate how to live our lives. How "playing by the rules" virtually guarantees "moving up", and if we're not
"moving up" then by God we should look in the mirror.
