Friday

Missouri: Romney vs. Obama
Rasmussen Reports
Romney 46, Obama 47 Obama +1

Saturday

Missouri: Romney vs. Obama
Post-Dispatch/Mason-Dixon
Romney 50, Obama 43 Romney +7

The state polls in the toss-up states have been going back and forth. We'll have to wait until closer to the election.

Which could not be further from the truth. Obama carrying Missouri is slim to NONE!

Rove has his tentacles everywhere and into everything. Certainly it's not anything like political polling being a messy business where it is very easy for a polling outfit to delude itself that their techniques are valid.

It couldn't be that. It must be a grand, Rovian conspiracy.

In cases like this, I prefer to apply the principles of William of Ockham. His razor slices off all such suppositions.

Ockham's Razor often gets mis-applied. There's a little more to it than "The simplest explanation is usually the best one".

Anyway, people have reason to be suspicious considering that Rasmussen & Rove were on the same GOP cruise ship together last year.

You bring a data point to bear. And maybe there are others as well.

I prefer to believe that Ras polls are skewed, not because it is a Rovian conspiracy, but because Rove and Ras have similar political views. That is the core of Ockham. The razor slices off your supposition.

Another principle. Correlation does not imply causation.

Rove is all powerful, but he couldn't help McCain/Palin even come close to beating Obama in 2008.

Enough Rovian conspiracy theories. They're rubbish.

Maybe Rove didn't want McCain & Palin to win in 2008.

Some people speculate that the Republicans didn't really want to win in 2008 because they know whoever took over from George W. Bush was going to have a disaster on their hands to clean up.

There is an insidious Rovian Republican conspiracy to lose elections so that they can win in the future!!!!

Sheesh!!! Rubbish.

I am done here.
