2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWhither the pro-Sanders "Enough is Enough" protests?
I know the DC protest fell apart; what happened in San Francisco and San Diego? There was one local new story (but apparently nothing on BERNIE2016TV), but the photos I saw showed a fairly small crowd. Lack of interest or lack of good planning?

(20,453 posts)You must be excited to share your theory after looking at your photos, checking the 6 o'clock news and looking for one of the social media sites. We all have needs.
The people who care... who really care about the issues that have gone unchecked for so long in this country, will continue their proactive habit of walking and talking to growing numbers who heretofore didn't understand who Bernie Sanders was, but certainly want to know more. Sanders volunteers will be doing what non-astro-turf groups don't do. Sanders campaigners, 7 months after he announced his run will engage with others who connect to those issues while you wish and hope they go away.
Enough is Enough.

(94,597 posts)...but it was the Sanders supporters who promised, on their own, a rally with 100,000 people that fell apart; and apparently rallies in California that turned out relatively small crowds. Since Sanders is still behind Clinton by a significant amount, and since he's giving his supporters a lot of autonomy, perhaps this suggests a failing in the campaign's volunteer policy?

(11,366 posts)I'm a Sanders supporter and the ONLY place I saw that alleged rally publicized with any fervor was here.
I'm also not a Millennial, so I knew precious little about today's rally, but it got some notice. I don't watch mainstream news anymore, but it was all over social media.

(20,453 posts)... But, to think it only means ONE thing is a bit limiting in thought, wouldn't you say?
It really suggests where we are at this point. The larger vision encompasses many more people who should be exposed to him and who ARE exposed to him, not who predicted numbers at a rally. We've never predicted numbers. I've never seen a link to predicted numbers of any rally.
I only can do grass root stuff where I live. I'm not likely to judge small versus large expectations. Hillary's also had smaller crowds, too. Personally, volunteers volunteer. They are not wonks, but working class people. I think given what it takes for working people to stay solvent these days, these people are not looking to work under some policy of driving numbers. It's always shown an organic pattern of growing numbers wherever he's spoken. Rally are something newer, but people meeting up and speaking, well... they (we) still are here.
We are very much here and this doesn't suggest any failure of the kind you describe.
