If Hillary Clinton loses the presidency I will corner a dead rat, kill it with my bare hands, put it on a grill, throw some Sriracha sauce, , eat it, and put it all on youtube under the tagline " Man loses bet", as long as the person taking my challenge promises to do it when she wins.

Let me preface my remarks by saying I don't believe what is written here has much effect in the real world but I see a distressing and disturbing phenomenon where supporters of a certain candidate are giving vent to the emotion that if my guy can't win then I want the gal or guy who beats my guy to lose.

That's okay when your favorite team or athlete loses...It's messed up when it comes to governance and our lives are in the balance.

The long knifes will be out. Hillary has so much baggage that no way in hell will she ever be elected our President. Simple as that.

What gets me is if you mention anything hillary that isn't just kissing her ass you are trashing her. Everything she has ever done is off limits to many or most of her few supporters here.

The closest she'll ever get to the oval office was when Billary was president. I remember when I used to think ol Bill was alright then I started putting two and two together and the outcome was he was not the good president some would like us to believe. In fact he sold us down the river on many issues. F the clintons at this point.

I will vote for Hill if she is our nominee but I damn sure won't vote for her in the primary.

From Wikipedia: "The horseshoe theory in political science asserts that rather than the far left and the far right being at opposite and opposing ends of a linear political continuum, they in fact closely resemble one another, much like the ends of a horseshoe."

The biggest mistake the Democratic Party can make is to allow the extreme Left to take hold of the Party. Look how that worked out on the Republican side. Not pretty.

He is calling a duer a libertarian and pretending its a mis spelling
I would not usually alert on this but this is the fourth time he has used this "mis spelling" to dump on manny
Its a call out and not cute.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Tue Dec 1, 2015, 06:22 AM, and the Jury voted 1-6 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Manny plays fucking games here everyday. The guy has said the most vile thing about Democrats and DUers for years and you want to play the "someone is picking on manny game"? Maybe some folks should consider what they post and where they are posting it and maybe people wouldn't react this way.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: This is real weak sauce, It is an opinion, opinions are why we are here, if someone wants to take it personally or as an attack all I can say is get over it.
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I think it's cute. Shame on you alerter for alterting on an obvious mispelling.
Juror #5 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Yep. Seems like an obvious dig at Manny to me.

I want to see the country move in a more liberal direction, particularly on economic issues. I'd also like to see less war in general. Bernie Sanders represents my views on those issues more than Hillary Clinton does. This is because Hillary Clinton has what is known as a record that one can point to and see that she's capable of saying a lot of things, but what she actually does is govern from a center right position.

That puts her head and shoulders over any Republican who are Very Right Wing, Extra Very Right Wing or Insanely Very Right Wing, but it's still not the direction I think we need to go as a nation. So I am going to continue supporting Bernie Sanders and criticizing Hillary Clinton.

But I don't know that I'd worry too much; look at the masterstroke she's accomplished. Somehow despite her history, she and her followers have successfully painted Bernie Sanders (a socialist until very recently) as a tepid moderate on Civil Rights. I wouldn't have thought that possible, but there it is. So I think her and her followers abilities to paint their enemies will ensure a victory.

But what gets posted here, and what is easily done with multiple socks as we've seen in the past, has no effect on a national scale. It won't defeat Hillary Clinton nor harm her chances nor diminish her front-runner status. It might work for some districts in the midterms, but it won't have an effect on state-wide and national elections, so I'm not the least bit worried about that.

I am worried about the damage that passionate Sanders supporters are doing to Bernie Sanders with their angry posts against Hillary Clinton and her supporters. I hope people won't judge Sanders by his supporters' actions.

I just keep this in mind:

Bernie Sanders would make an ok president.

Hillary Clinton would make an excellent president.

I'll choose excellent but will settle for ok if that's necessary. And I won't allow anonymous posters to dissuade me from either candidate no matter how hard they purposely or accidentally try.

Are we now back to that intimidation tactic?

And if we refuse to be intimidated we are immature? I'll give you credit for that addition. That little bit extra seems to be all yours. Point for originality.

Are you aware that there are primaries coming up, and that depending on the primary results Clinton may not even be a candidate in the general election? This is a democracy, not a dynasty, and we don't do coronations. One thing at the time please. And that thing, right now, is a primary contest between the 1 % candidate who believes in the status quo, and two 99 % candidates who believe in overdue change.

Discuss.

Hillary Clinton will not win the General if nominated because voters do not want another Bush or Clinton.
Besides Hillary won't be winning anything it will be the corporate Mafia buying the election for her. If God forbid she wins the nomination
Liberals, progressives will stay home because they will not vote for a Repulican and either way we will have two Republicans to chose from ,Hillary or the Republican parties nominee.

Hillary would still be getting money and policy from the people who tanked our economy. She would still have voted for the Iraq War and be engaging in saber-rattling for political benefit to this day. She would still be promoting policy palatable to what big money and corporate lobbyists want instead of what's going to be of the greatest benefit to those with no voice. And she would still have little to no credibility on issues because her current rhetoric doesn't match her past record.
People aren't stupid and they see all these things on their own without my help. You people pushing her relentlessly are still living in the increasingly irrelevant paradigm where you can just mass-market your way into overcoming a bad product.

That's what the party seems to have pre-ordained. Assuming that she is the nominee, I fear she will lose. She's certainly qualified for the job, but she doesn't generate enough excitement among the electorate to guarantee a win. I would expect a turnout like we see in the midterms. If the GOP wins, it will not be the fault of the Bernie Sanders group, it will be the fault of Hillary Clinton and her uninspired campaign.

Mon Nov 30, 2015, 07:57 PM
Nov 2015
I am a 27-year-old, politically active, progressive millennial voter. I am a political junkie; my background is political science and American history. However, if Hillary Clinton gets the nomination (a big “if”), I will likely not vote for her, and will instead write in “Bernie Sanders” … and I encourage my readers to do so as well.

I never thought I would be encouraging people to not vote for the Democratic nominee for president. Looking at 2012, history illustrates that the only way to change politics is through primary elections: If you want change, vote for the party aligned most closely to that change, and participate in primaries, but when it comes to the general, select the “lesser of two evils.” However, I am disgusted with how the Democratic Party is resisting that process.

The DNC’s actions regarding the number of debates, the scheduling of those debates and the treatment of the candidates is disgraceful, and undemocratic. Debbie Wasserman Schultz has disappointed me as a young, active Democrat. The second debate was on a Saturday night, and the viewership was predictably small. In fact, three of the seven debates are scheduled for Saturdays. The DNC’s leadership has seemingly aligned itself with Hillary Clinton, someone who, in my opinion, is an unqualified candidate for the following reasons:

Backing Hillary in 2016: Bad for Progressives and Bad Politics, Too

.....Let’s face it, the Democratic Party has become a pale doppelganger to the Republican Party. They pursue job wrecking trade agreements in secret; they engage in foreign wars cavalierly; they are limiting our civil rights; they cozy up to Wall Street and the big banks; they contribute to the grotesque income inequality that is destroying the economy both passively – by not directly opposing Republican fiscal plans – and actively -- by proposing their own deregulation such as repeal of Glass-Steagall.

As a result, only a little over a third of the voters showed up, and those who did were motivated by fear, greed, anger, hate and bigotry which were integral parts of the conservative campaign........

Gosh, I've been mistaken all this time being for Bernie, because Clinton is inevitable! I see now, that if I keep supporting Bernie, then Republicans will gain the White House, take the Senate and Keep the House, pack the Supreme Court and turn the nation fascist.

Yep. No matter how much I agree with Bernie because I think his policies will make this a better country, I've been horribly wrong to support him, and even more horribly wrong to have the temerity to criticize Hillary Clinton.

Yep. Because genuinely progressive positions like Bernie's don't have a place in today's Democratic Party. Nope. No place. We're much better off acquiescing to the Republicans and moving right. Absolutely! That's the kind of America I want - one where the Dems pay lip service to social issues while helping the oligarchs screw the American people economically.

Gee, I'm so happy I read this, because now I can comport myself correctly here on DU!

I will frankly agree that there are a few Sanders supporters who are over the top.

BUT I DO NOT AGREE that criticizing center-right policy positions is smearing. It is simply pointing out differences.

FURTHERMORE, ANY minimally objective, rational and reasonable person can see with just a cursory glance at this forum that a number of Hillary's most ardent supporters are just downright slimy in their anti-Bernie smears.

You, honestly and sincerely don't see that? If you really don't than this is as delusional and BATSHIT CRAZY as the ravings of Ted Cruz or Donald Trump.
