If Sanders can't break Clinton's Super Tuesday firewall, he isn't making it to June.

If he does break it and manages to win over minority voters, Clinton doesn't make it to June.

California won't get to play a role unless the convention is going to be brokered, and that is very, very unlikely to happen.

large numbers of supporters donating money time and enthusiasm.
Plenty of ways to impact earlier primaries in smaller states.
