At our last meeting we endorsed Bernie Sanders in the Democratic presidential primary. After a discussion which allowed anyone who wanted to advocate for any of the three current candidates, our members present voted and Senator Sanders won by a 3 to 1 margin.
There were several points which seemed to have the most impact in swaying the decision in Bernie's favor:
1) On most issues Senator Sanders is the most progressive of the three Democrats running for president. Why shouldn't we support the candidate whose views are most in line with our own positions?
2) After years of American politics steadily being pushed to the right on economic issues by organized money, the Sanders Campaign is pushing it in the other direction.
3) Whether he wins or he loses, it looks as if Bernie will keep his campaign organization together to push for progressive change. We need a national movement that creates a demand for change that is so strong it can't be ignored. Northwest Bronx For Change should be part that movement.

Electability
There was disagreement over whether Bernie was electable. This recent poll may settle that debate: Sanders Beats Trump By 13%>>>
