Gravis MarketingWinter Springs, Fla. An extended lead for Democrat Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and a virtual tie on the Republican side highlights a recent Gravis Marketing poll from Iowa. (15,373 posts)But the spread between Hillary and Bernie is close to that in the CNN poll, so the Gravis result might be more reliable than some.
What is exciting about this one, IMO, is that MO'M made it to double digits.

(62,276 posts)I was surprised, apparently MOM has a lot of endorsements at the local level in IA and has a big ground game there.
MOM, imo, poses a significant threat to Sanders going in to IA and NH, because if he makes a good showing in IA it might convince NH voters to give him votes, which could eat in to Sanders' votes. Sanders needs the momentum and media coverage coming out of IA and NH. A good showing or win in IA would propel him forward, and winning NH (which I think he will do unless MOM is a significant threat) would bolster his campaign.

(30,481 posts)And I have written about MO'M building ground support in Iowa. Mainly elected and connected people. I have no clue what his impact will be. If he meets threshold in caucuses it could be huge.

(15,373 posts)MOM as a potential threat to Bernie in IA is spot on, regardless of the polls right now. In many ways, they attract the same kinds of non-Hillary voters. But MOM's voters are generally also longtime Dems. As you also say, he has quite a few local endorsements and a good ground game.
Those three elements are all extremely important everywhere, but especially in a caucus state like IA.

(193 posts)Even if Sanders wins Iowa and NH he isn't gonna get the media coverage he'll need to overcome Hillary in the more "diverse" states no matter what. Does anyone here really think the day after Iowa and NH the media is gonna be anything but "Trump rules all", or "Trump fails"? Unless Sanders wins Iowa and NH by huge margins, which isn't gonna happen, Bernie will be drowned out by Trump, as everyone else has been the past 6 months.

(598 posts)I was interested when I read the poll, until I noticed it was a Gravis Poll. They've been way off target in the past.
