Timing of the HHS announcement: dumb like a fox?

Seems to me that the time to have the heat of this debate in an election year would be early in the year, say February, so that it will be "old news" come next fall. Hmmm....

Remember the Rev. Jeremiah Wright controversy? It happened in March, 2008. By fall, it was a weak straw for repubs opposition efforts against Obama. The public had heard it ad nauseum, it was thoroughly debated, and Obama successfully dampened its effect.

While I don't believe that the two issues are of equal weight, the point is that both sides hash their points out and inevitably the energy level goes down.

So, if we are to have the debate at all (and I think we MUST), let us have it right now...

See the shiny object? He gets them to have conniptions over minor changes that everybody supports. He seems to do that a lot.
