Online Forum For Sexually Frustrated Men Reacts To News That Mass Shooter May Be One Of Their Own

Someone with the username EliotRodger was a regular poster on an online message board called PUAhate, on which men who have been unlucky with women commiserate, criticize one another, excoriate the opposite sex, and denounce PUA's, or pick-up artists — dating gurus whom they accuse of preying on desperate men like themselves for financial gain.

Many of the posters identify themselves as "incels," short for involuntary celibates, and some of the posts fantasize about violence toward women. . . .

An example of the sort of intense criticism of one another's appearance that is common on the site comes from a member named Colez, who writes:

He's not "ugly" in layman's terms, but he has no sex appeal. Short lower third and gay midface, with zero brow ridge. ... We must dig deeper.

He should've gotten a hair-cut, aqcuired neck tattoos and gone over the top with the sociopathic act, that would've gotten him hotties. Unfortunately, like most on this site, he's too aspie to realize it. Lock him up and throw away the key.

Another user claimed that Rodger was the son of Peter Rodger, a documentary filmmaker and a second unit director on the "Hunger Games," according to IMDB. The post included a picture of a young man resembling Eliot Rodger at a red carpet event.

Colez later followed up: "Nothing will come of this, you sensationalist losers. Certainly not national coverage."

But another member, manic786, disagreed.

If this is legit the future does not bode well for this forum.... This site, trolling aside, holds potentially dangerous material. Imagine a mass realisation amongst incels and the potential repercussions it will have. This forum will be closed, individual users will be investigated and will likely be prosecuted for crimes such as incitement etc.

We will be persecuted and hunted down like the vile abominations we are... Act quickly to avoid any link to this place.

isn't just a character flaw found in a few people, but instead a cultivated traditional worldview; and that ignoring it doesn't make it go away, but instead lets it fester and grow.

Thomas James Ball, for example, who was hailed as a martyr on so many men’s rights forums, called for arson attacks on courthouses and police stations. The Norwegian mass killer Anders Breivik wrote extensively about the evils of feminism. We included as much as we did about Register-Her.com because it is so intimidating to its targets, not all of whom are criminals. When Elam accused Vliet Tiptree, a pseudonymous contributor to RadFem Hub, of “calling for extermination of half the human race; the male half, that is,” he offered a cash reward for her real identity. The names and locations of several candidates were publically aired. . .

that PUAHate don't hate PUAs for being misogynist asshats. They hate them because they were stupid enough to buy Konami codes to sex only to discover that women are actual people and cheat codes don't work on human beings.

"We will be persecuted and hunted down like the vile abominations we are..."

Who talks like that? Like we're going to be chasing dudes in furry tophats and Ed Hardy shirts through the streets with axes tomorrow. Given how seriously society usually takes crimes against women, I'd be shocked if even the next threat of a mass shooting against women is investigated before it happens, much less every member of that board tracked down for prosecution.

Wanting human friendship and connection seems to me to be an entirely different thing, good with or without sex.

They are only interested in sex. They get angry when their female friends won't have sex with them.

that women have brothers, friends, co workers, etc. He saw women's role so very narrowly- in terms of his immediate needs.

I have met many "normal" men who made the same assumptions, usually they get over that stupid idea by their late 20's.

To love.

If its just sex he wanted I guarantee there are websites where he could have found it.

He didn't want just sex, he wanted 'the girlfriend experience'. All the sex and attention and affection without having to put any effort in himself. It's a very popular idea with clueless, selfish men.

Lots of desperate, lonely people out there.

Don't think he was upset he couldn't get a girlfriend. Believe it likely he was upset he couldn't get the kind of girlfriend he thought he deserved. Suspect he had a certain image of himself and would not "settle". Seen this play out with some very entitled men.
