Life long Democrat from coal mine country, now living in the flat lands of the mid-American prairie
Married for close to 30 years, with two adult children.
I have a 65 pound mongrel from the humane society and she is the smallest dog my wife and I have ever had...
That should tell you all that anyone would ever need to know of me.

(13,186 posts)If you like a funky southern rock mixed with some blues.
And, really anyone worth talking music with probably already likes those things.
The Polack MSgt
(13,186 posts)From a couple years ago.
This line up is Devon Allman & Frank Zito (guitars/vocals) Cyril Neville (Vocals/percussion) Yonrico Scott (drums) and Charlie Wooten (Bass).
Since then both guitarists have gone back to their solo careers and have been replaced by Bart Scot and Tyrone Vaughn - The newest album is called "Don't look back" and was recorded at Fame Studio in Muscle Shoals AL.
They are touring continuously, and are fantastic live.

Devon has played at our campsite (Helen's Hilton...we are kind of famous there) after the shows a couple of times.

(13,186 posts)I do like Alabama Shakes.
Mrs. Polack and I are driving down to St Charles to see Devon Allman - Tomorrow Night!!!
I agree that we should get along - musically at least, and that should smooth some rough edges that may arise with other subjects.

(756 posts)Just want to say I have enormous respect. I will never forget walking into my E5 promotion board with 8-9 E8-9s. Must have been 100 combat stripes in the room. I only served 4yrs I calibrated electronics mostly. Information is deciminated on a need to know basis, but just 1 quest. what award is the displayed ribbon?
The Polack MSgt
(13,186 posts)That is the southwest Asia service ribbon - with poor color balance.
They didn't have the specific campaign ribbons for desert storm or enduring freedom/Iraqi freedom - just the catchall theater service ribbon.
I believe that they chose this and the Southeast Asian Service ribbon to show the generational differences of DU's veteran members

Hope you enjoy it here, it can get quite contentious here at times, but in the end, we're basically all on the same team.
