Related: About this forumSlashes in signature. How do I get rid of them?
Hyphens and quotes end up looking like sthis in the signature line. \\\ Like, I\'m. If I delete them, they just reappear. I see others using proper punctuation without a problem. What's the deal?

I don't think there much you can do to fix this at the moment.
I would cite this in the 'Ask the Administrators' forum.

(101,347 posts)I just fixed my sig by using the character Make7 suggested. Strange that an even more non-standard character displays fine, while the fairly standard one ( ' ) is causing problems.

(8,543 posts)... so using those characters within a string often requires them to be escaped somehow or denoted by some numerical code equivalent. Non-standard quotes don't need to be escaped since they have no special meaning in programming syntax.
